seriously, thanks everyone. legit, rational opinions. no fanboys, no reverse trolling. just super opinions with backing. i like it :) i mean i still think we got a better bench, but i like it :P

i think this is my number 1, "wtf whoa" name when i think about the heat. keith askins. lol also, rory sparrow.

i def understand rooting for your team itself even if you dont care for the guy but i also remember that there was almost a rony for scottie trade! wtf.

heres another question for all of you...do the newer heat "fans" bother you? i know we have some annoying posters on our board but they arent so much like new as just really toooo hard on a lot of guys and fairweather. do you older posters get annoyed with some of the cockiness and over the topsness of some of the posters on your board as well? i know we had a lot of trolling onto our bulls board last year and for a lot of you, LUKEKARTS i saw post somewhere etc, seem to be very realistic. which is how i am with the bulls. so i guess its controversial to ask, but we get a lot of bandwagoners here with other sports. namely the blackhawks when they won.

oh yeah, TOTAL sidenote, anyone know what the cheapest but close and not janky area to miami is? for a vacation? i may be there at the end of january.

posey  he broke tyrus's nose, luols wrist and shoulder talked hinrich. one of you posted saying how youd accept any ex bull, celt etc on your team and that has been true here, we had rodman and wallace and such. but the only guy that got booed and was traded after 5 games... JOHN STARKS. he was the ONE guy we couldnt forgive. do you have any?

Than '04-'05, the excitement with Shaq coming and I actually liked the team a lot but wasn't a big Damon Jones fan.

'05-'06, was obviously the greatest year in Heat history. Didn't like Antoine Walker AT ALL, but loved the vets we picked up in Payton, J-Will, Posey, and obviously my favorite NBA player of all time Alonzo Mourning. That year was frustrating at times (remember 30+ point loss to Mavs in reg. season and when we went 0-2 in the Finals), but it was definitely worth it in the end going to that parade. :D

'06-'07 was tough. It was practically the same team and we lost to the Bulls on ring ceremony game by like 40 and got swept by them in the first round of the playoffs. It pretty much showed that we weren't going to get any better with that team and that tough times were ahead.

'07-'08 was hard to swallow. I was always a Heat fan and would watch every game no matter what. But 15-67 along with Wade being injured. Shaq was injured and he was traded. Ricky Davis was our "closer" and couldn't hit a big shot.. I honestly hated everyone on that team (except for UD and Zo). It was a tough year, but we were hopeful of landing the #1 spot in the draft and drafting D. Rose..

'08-'09 was a HUGE sigh of relief. Wade came back better than ever and was the scoring champion (30.2 ppg). We got the #2 pick and had to settle with drafting Beasley. We made it to the playoffs with a 43-39 record and halfway through the year picked up JO and Moon. I honestly was disappointed in our draft but Beas was alright. And I actually liked that team a lot. Forced a game 7 against ATL in the playoffs.

'09-'10 was all about out 1 year contracts (lol). Wade, Haslem, JO, Moon, Jones, Cook, Wright, Richardson, Anthony, Arroyo, Magloire, were all free agents. We only had Beasley and Chalmers under contract, so we were concerned with Wade and where he would end up signing or else Beasley would've been our best player.

'10-'11 was the most stressful but exciting season I've witnessed. With the media circus, hate, backlash, high expectations, "not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7...", 9-8 start, bumpgate, crygate, not being able to beat elite teams, couldn't close games, etc. It was just such a crazy year. Playoffs roll around and our first round was ok enough to beat the 76ers. Than Boston came and everyone and their mothers mentioned that fact that we went 1-3 in the regular season against Boston and that we couldn't win. On to the ECF against the Bulls, and honestly it was one of the most exciting series' I've seen. Than we went into the Finals with high expectations, and got our dreams crushed. But when we got LeBron and Bosh to sign with Wade, I knew it would take time and patience.

epic sig man. :D

That's when I really started watching a lot of Heat games myself and I loved that squad as well. I was actually a littled crushed when we traded for Shaq because I was such a fan of Odom and Caron and thought Brian Grant was one of the greatest personalities in the league but understood it was a necessary step to become a contender.

Actually, many posters here on RealGM were happy as sh*t the Heat traded Odom and Grant for Shaq at the time, because it seemed every post here was that Odom is lazy and Grant was injury prone. We were surprised that the Heat were able to get a player like Shaq for them. But, we all missed Caron. He was going to be the face of the franchise until Wade came along.

Don't get it twisted, I thought the trade was great for us basketball wise, I just liked those guys.

Don't get me twisted. I like Odom and Grant. Many people here just trashed them while they were in Miami. Heck, I liked Ike Austin.
