Wizards are 0-2 and dreadful.
As bad as it has been under Herb Kohl, the Wizards are actually a worse performing franchise over the past 30-years. I believe they have won over 45 games only once in that time span.
They won 54 games and made the Finals in 1978-79. Since they time, their second best record was 45-37 in the 2004-05 season. They have finished under .500 in 22 of the last 32 seasons. They are pretty analogous to the Bucks under Kohl except they have done it for a decade longer. There is a pattern of 20-30 win seasons and then a couple 43-39 years, then they go back down into the toilet bowl again.
Ernie Grunfeld took the reigns as GM on June 30, 2003. And I'd argue that even accounting for John Wall, our core is actually better than theirs. Thus Kohl > Grunfeld.
Jackson has averaged 20.6 points in his last 11 games - nine wins - versus the Wizards, who he'll meet for the first time in a Bucks uniform.
Washington, meanwhile, will want to make sure Nick Young gets his fair share of shots. One of the team's few bright spots after averaging 18.5 points in the first two games off the bench, Young averaged 19.0 in three games against Milwaukee last season.
The Bucks, however, won two of those and have taken eight of 11 from the Wizards overall.
