Dwayne Wade's Comments about Beasley
“Michael is an unbelievable talent,” Wade said. “And he can erupt any game, any moment. The ability that he has to use both hands around the basket, finishing. His jumpshot. He has all the tools. With Michael, it’s just going to take him to continue to grow at the game, and get to a winning environment, and start understanding what his team needs from him. I mean, he’s a good player. He’s one of the best young talents that we have in the game. But he has the potential to be a great player. If he wants it. And that’s what we always told him in Miami. So we’ll see.”

Re: Dwayne Wade's Comments about Beasley
This is what EVERYONE is saying all along......
There is NO doubt that Beasley is talented.
It all comes down to the intangibles.
Unfortunately, he wasn't, still isn't, and possibly would never be mentally ready - and that's what needs to happen if Beasley wants to take his game into the next level.
The little things are what's stopping him from becoming a superstar. Defensive discipline, decision making, shot selection, ballhandling, etc. To his credit, since his rookie year in Miami he did improve in some of those aspects.
I've always said to people that give this kid time. I've always defended this dude. But Im starting to realize that for the past 3/4 years, I just wasted my time.
Beasley's talent is soon going to waste. What a damn shame.
Now given it's been only like 3 games out of 66 and we need to chill, but if Beasley wants to show out, the time is NOW. NO MORE EXCUSES.
Enough of that "But he's only 21 tho" excuse.
I think the best case scenario of him taking the Durant route to stardom is no longer possible - BUT, if he can get his **** together, he can still take the Zach Randolph route and not let that precious talent go to waste. Otherwise, he'll just bounce around 10 teams in his career.

Yes Dwyane, he is good at finishing around the basket w/ both hands, problem is getting there w/o being tempted by a contested J. He'll have some big games, people will say I told you so, but ultimately I see no signs of consistency and thats whats needed from SCMB.

Re: Dwayne Wade's Comments about Beasley
I don't understand people that say Beas age isn't an issue any more. How many people have their head screwed on straight when they are 21/22? It happens but Beas is immature. If anyone in this world had patience anymore they would wait and let him develop instead of throwing his talent away. 15-20 years ago he'd still be playing in college (maybe he'd be a rookie this year), then given a few years to develop. Now he's a 22 year old throw away in WAY too many peoples minds. Yeah, there's a chance he won't ever mature. But unless some other team gambles and give us equal talent (like that will ever happen), I say keep him, use him as a role player that needs to earn minutes and see what we have in a few years.

Re: Dwayne Wade's Comments about Beasley
It's way too early to give up on Beasley - he's had very little in the way of consistency in the coaches around him.
I'm not sure he'll find his rhythm or patience but I think we're all talking about selling a bit too early (and low) on a guy who has his talent. He needs to work, he needs to want it, the way Kevin Love does.
If I were betting on it I'd give him 50/50 shot of putting it together - but I'm not selling 50% for 10 cents on the dollar. With Beasley's potential upside I'd need 75 cents back because even if he stalls in his development he's a capable NBA player with 30 points possible in any game. Not a lot of those in the league.
His contract demands could change that but I'll cross that bridge when we get there.

WHAAAAT??? Michael Beasley is one of the best scorers in the NBA. Anyone can count on their fingers the amount of good defenders at the 3 spot. He was always one of the better ball handlers above 6'9 since he entered the league. HOW MANY PEOPLE LOOK AT YOU AND CALL THEIR SHOTS WHILE LOOKING AT YOU DEAD IN THE EYE?? Kobe, Wade, Bron, Melo, Durant.... ALL ELITE offensive talents. Get my drift? RELAX! And I mean no disrespect to the thread starter, I got some love for any sports fan. Lol I mean I can go on and on.

Doc rivers also said last year that Beasley could be the leading scorer in the NBA some day.

Re: Dwayne Wade's Comments about Beasley
It's not a big mental issue. He holds himself to high standards, but realistically, we're 3 games into a season with a young team and a new coach. EVERYONE wrote off AR in the first two preseason games and he played very well vs Miami. Beasley is a very good player, let's give him some time to gel in the new system and with his teammates.
Beasley has #1 scoring abilities, he just needs to calm down and play within himself (much like AR).
Rubio, Love, Beasley could be a very good core for the future.
