Report: The Magic are looking for a "rental" team for Dwight. Here are five teams who should consider it.

Just when I started to slightly believe Orlando had a chance to keep Dwight......

:sigh:

I think they are making sure they have all options available. I truly believe that they are doing all they can to try and keep him, they are just leaving themselves outs incase it goes bad. If dwight had shut the door completely on staying they would have moved him already, or been much more aggressive with it. I also think they would have not brought back Jrich and Earl or brought in BBD.

Dwight is leaving to door open, the magic need to step up and show him they are close and just need a few pieces.

I like the idea in the article if Mem would trade Gasol/Gay/Mayo for Turk/Dwight/JRich type of deal we would be better IMO

Jameer/Doo Doo
Mayo/JJ/Q
Gay/Clark/Q
Anderson/BBD
Gasol/BBD/Orton

Actually I think both teams improve and we IMO are back to title contenders and better than we are by a bunch, plus Gay and Gasol are on long term contracts to

The Warriors on Friday decided not to sign free-agent center Kyrylo Fesenko, leaving a roster spot open to potentially sign another guard.

The fifth-year, 7-foot-1, 288-pounder and the Warriors had agreed to the terms of a one-year deal worth $1.07 million on Tuesday. He was in Oakland on Wednesday and ran through some drills, but a Warriors official said the team later "decided to go in another direction."

That direction is unclear, but it might be to add guard depth since point guard Stephen Curry has right ankle issues and shooting guard Monta Ellis will be in Mississippi for the funeral of his grandmother for an unspecified amount of time.

Why do we keep referring to our players as trash? When did Jason Richardson become trash? Hedo certainly isn't playing like trash? We need to stop this ish.

OK they trade 3 or there 4 best players for Dwight and 2 mediocre pieces of trash?

We'd be lucky to get someone like Rudy for Dwight especially when he wouldn't sign an extension.

The Nets coaching staff gaffed on Friday, failing to inform players that they were out of timeouts late in the fourth quarter.
While inbounding the ball, rookie MarShon Brooks called a timeout the Nets didn't have and the Hawks were awarded a free throw and possession. "It wasn’t his fault," said Deron Williams. "It happened to a rookie, so they’re going to say it’s a rookie mistake, but it’s really not on him, it’s on everybody." The Nets have begun the season 0-3.

Its getting better and better, lol.

Avery would do nothing but pet him and give him the best lip service he's ever seen....he'd love it there sadly.

I would love to sign Fesenko as a backup C. Especially for that cheap.

I'd be all over it, sign him now. Unfortunately our GM is dumb as a rock, and likes this team with no backup C. :nonono: :banghead:

One quick note about Fesenko.....is he really good enough to be a rotational big man for a contending team (which is what we currently are)? He's no better then what Daniel Orton can be and will not get any playing time.

Fesenko would do us no good, if we're looking at a backup bigman it needs to be someone that can atleast crack our rotation and play for 10-15minutes. Which is why it sucks that Tony Battie resigned in Philly. He would have been great to have back.

I haven't seen Fesenko play much, but Orton is clearly not NBA ready yet. IMO Orton should spend sometime in the D League.

I concur. If he isn't going to get minutes with the Magic, at least get him minutes in the D-league. I feel like the Magic are wasting potential by doing nothing with him expect benching him.

I wonder how well dwight has read the new CBA? Just read an article on SI that gave a pretty good analysis of how it is going to force the "superfriends" to be a very tough thing for teams to pull off as early as 2014.

The 3 Max or close to max contract days are going to cost an owner HUGE in luxury taxes and with the limitations on tax teams it makes it hard to fill out the rest of a team.

Now the nets owner has 18B, but not sure if even he would be willing to pay a third max guy to come join them.

So if you can't build a superteam, why not stay in O-town and keep your legacy to a single team instead of a ring chaser. I mean the Devos have 5B, still plenty to pay to field a great team around him.

Starting in 2013-14, though, we get a graduated tax scale that gets harsher the more you spend:

$0-5 million over: $1.50-for-$1
$5-10 million over: $1.75-for-$1
$10-15 million over: $2.50-for-$1
$15-20 million over: $3.25-for-$1

Assuming an $85 million pre-tax payroll, he Heat's 2013-14 tax bill: $28.75 million, putting their total salary cost at around $113.75 million.

Now, the Heat are almost certain to temper the blow by using the amnesty clause provision on Mike Miller, who is scheduled to make $6.2 million that season, with a player option worth $6.6 million the following season. That rolls back the tax payment considerably, but factor in another $1.3 million player to replace Miller and Arison is still facing a tax bill of $16 million.

Outside of JJ our bench has been horrible. Going from Bass to Baby so far seems like a big loss, and Duhon, while playing better this year, still sorta stinks. Earl hasn't shown he can earn consistent minutes, and the rookies just are not ready yet. Wafer is probably our brightest spot, but he competes with JJ for court time and JJ is the far superior player.

I think that Stan can coach Baby into being a solid contributor, and maybe he can get Earl to that point too, and perhaps Duhon will be a good contributor as well, but I'm still concerned with our depth and again reminded that Otis has failed hard in replacing our depth from the '10 season (which he used to trade for Hedo and JRich no less).

Think bench performance is the thing to watch for this year and where Stan will really have an opportunity to shine.
