I think guys need to calm down a little bit.
We just played the two best teams of last years regular season and our team is till a work in progress, with all the changes we made.
Looking at it, I think we'll need another wing player/defender with some size that can play both the 2 and 3 spots. We also need Reggie Evans pretty soon and hopefully another backup big with some size.
All things considered, we just aren't deep enough currently and therefore we aren't at the Bulls or Spurs level yet, which is to be expected by a team that's just together for about two to three weeks and still lacking some pieces to compete with the depth all those very good teams tend to have.

It was a frustrating loss, but like Det said, we played two top teams. I didn't really think we could beat the Bulls, and San Antonio, I guess they came to play that night (and apparently didn't come to play the next night against the Rockets...).
Obviously it's going to take time to gel. But Olshey really need to get us a true big, and fast. Just someone to get us all these rebounds we keep giving up, and so we aren't always undersized at the 5.

How are Clipps fans still falling for the same bs ? You know what other teams do while we talk about.gelling and it taking time ? They win games and go.to the playoffs.
This team plays no defense. No.defense =no playoffs.
As for Blake. Not only has he regressed but his new nickname should be Layup Line because you can get whatever you want from him. Lamarcus is gonna bust his ass tomorrow.

i think games like these show us that there's still a significant gap between the clippers and teams like the spurs, bulls, heat, celtics, etc. as a overall unit they are better rebounders (clippers gave up way too many offensive boards), have much more consistent team defenses (gotta rotate to the open shooter more quickly), and move the ball around more on offense (a few too many isolation plays, although the clippers have the least problems here). imo these are execution issues (not design issues) and it is something the clippers will have to work on throughout the season.
also the lack of another big man and a big guard/forward hurts as well (foye is just playing bad right now). and deandre jordan getting in foul trouble just exacerbates the issues because the team's defense is like night and day with/without him. to be fair, a couple of those calls were really ticky-tacky (while griffin got hammered but no whistle) but rest weren't great decisions, like the blocking foul he could have potentially avoided.

Calls will always be missed as that is a given. However, the Bulls did get the opportunity to have 34 attempts at the foul line. There were countless plays where our guys were hacked, slapped and bumped but nothing was called. If the Clippers managed to shoot 14 more free-throws than the other team, I wouldn't have much reason to complain about the refs even if there were a few things that went uncalled.
Blake constantly gets called on the carpet for "flopping" and primarily by Bulls fans. The fact is that if he doesn't sell the contact, he won't get the call. He gets beat up more than than most players in the league, but you aren't going to get the call if the ref doesn't see you flinch. He has had bruises, welts and scratches suddenly appear on his body; but according to the refs and opposing fans, there was no contact made.
The calls weren't the only thing that sunk our team on Friday night, but it's annoying and frustrating when you can't see what the team could/would/should do if things were fair.
