May have been posted before, but MKG is having a beast of a game, 23pts 17rebs 1ast. I'm not sure what the knock on this guy is,he has a very high motor and thats more than I can say for the spot up shooter Barnes.

Davis is such a defensive force.

MKG on pace for a 20/20 game.

I'm still not sold on his upside but MKG would certainly be an excellent fit if we're not picking top 5

Seems like I've missed a lot in the prospect world. Never even heard of Lamb, but seems to be a consensus top 5 pick now!

Davis 2nd half numbers are insane. Him next to Val would make us a force.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is proving to be a big-game player. If develops a consistent perimeter game, he's going to be scary good. He's got everything else imo.

Holy Christ @ MKG's line

And he's already not too shabby from the outside. Not quite at Barnes' level, sure, but 35% as a frosh isn't too bad.

Consensus of this board, perhaps, but not yet the mock drafts.

My take is that today is a great day for the Raptors because several of the high end prospects did more than just flash the occasional brilliance in their strongest area. Today, Kidd-Gilchrist, Drummond, Davis, etc, showed game-changing abilities against good opponents. That's very encouraging for the depth of this draft. If we ended up, say, fifth again, we might not do much worse than the team drafting first overall.

For the last time. For the very last time. Barnes is not just a spot up shooter.

For the last time, he's been neither efficient nor effective with his other moves.

MKG seems to have gotten stronger as the years progressed. Whats his stats for the last 6 or 7 games?

Holyyyy crap! MKG was an absolute BEAST today. Watching that Kentucky game I couldn't help but get excited at the possibilities. I see MKG and Davis doing so well and wonder if anyone would deal a top pick for Ed who's proven himself in the NBA. Davis just looks like he's gonna Tim Duncan the league to me. Obviously Timmy was much more complete, don't get me wrong, but I mean in terms of titles. I think Davis can lead a team to 4 or 5.

Then you add MKG into the mix and you got a defensive force named the Raptors for years to come. Imagine starting a lineup with MKG, Davis and Val on the front line? How will people score on you? And even if we lose out on MKG I still believe Jeremy Lamb will be an absolute baller in the NBA.

Now obviously I'm dreaming, but why not? :D

They've been playing well all year. I think whatever negative buzz came out from Fraud or whomever was just hot air.

It's always been a deep draft.

Kidd-Gilchrist has a been a monster recently. I'd be super excited if he turned out to be our draft pick next year.

I really think the Raps will be in a good position if we can end up with one of the top 4 picks. It would be great if we could also acquire a second top 10, but I'm not sure which picks and which teams we'd match up well with in a trade. Based on th early nbadraftnet rankings (which will almost assuredly change by seasons end) Detroit, Charlotte, and either Milwaukee's pick or Utah's (outside top 10), might be had for the right price with Terrence Ross, Perry Jones, MK Gilchrist, and possibly Kabaongo or Teague being of interest.

Here are the top 4 scenarios I would love to see taking place.

1st Pick) Andre Drummond
*Trade one or two of our excess big men (Davis, Amir, Bargnani, Valanciunas) + maybe a future 1st for the 4th pick and take Harrison Barnes or less for MKG
(Extra) Acquire another extra pick for Kabongo or Teague.
*Our lineup: (PG) Jose (SG) Demar (C) Drummond (SF) Barnes/MKG (PF) Val/Bargs/Amir/Davis

2nd Pick) Anthony Davis
* Trade one or two of our excess big men (Davis, Amir, Bargnani, Valanciunas) + maybe a future 1st for the 4th pick and take Harrison Barnes or a less for MKG
(Extra) Acquire another extra pick for Kabongo or Teague.
*Future lineup: (PG) Kabongo (SG) Demar (C) Val (SF) Barnes/MKG (PF) AD

3rd Pick) Jeremy Lamb
* Trade one or two of our excess big men (Davis, Amir, Bargnani, Valanciunas) + maybe Derozan or a future pick for the 4th pick and take Harrison Barnes or less for MKG
(Extra) Acquire another extra pick for Kabongo or Teague.
*Future lineup: (PG) Kabongo (SG) Lamb (C) Val (SF) Barnes/MKG (PF) Bargs/Amir/Davis

4th Pick) Harrison Barnes
*Status quo
*Maybe trade excess bigs for MKG and Kabongo
*Future lineup: (PG) Kabongo (SG) Demar (C) Val (SF) Barnes (PF) Bargs/Amir/Davis

Right now my preferece is for scenario 3. I think Lamb and Barnes would provide a excellent dual threat, defensively strong, wing combo.

^I seriously doubt we try and put 3 rookies on the floor next season. It'd be nice to see if we could buy low on Kabongo and get him with a mid to late first, and then just bring him along slowly, but BC and Casey are on 2 year deals. They pretty much have to win next year, so it's likely we'll be spending money on vets and going with just Val and this high pick.
