how am I cherry picking stats? The other poster gave me a 35 game sample size and I gave him 2 seasons where he was awful on the glass. He's never averaged 10 rebounds in a season when he's played 45 games and in 4 of the 5 he came nowhere close. One season where he didn't average 10 rebounds a game isn't gonna make me say a career 7 rpg player is a great rebounder. his career trb% is 16.7, with 3 seasons in the 15.3ish TRB% (he played 82, 50 and 65 games respectively). this is higher than Pau Gasol the past 2 seasons, who coincidentally, averaged double digit rebounds. all he needs is some more minutes, because he is EASILY a double digit rebounder, and this is backed up statistically. btw, bynums rebounding goes UP in the playoffs, where hes had 3 seasons at 23.8, 16.4, and 18.8 TRB% respectively.

umm, no. I'm not ignoring what he did last season, I'm just not gonna call him a great rebounder because one good season doesn't wipe out 4 awful ones. The other thing that holds him back on being a 10 rpg guy is that he didn't have the conditioning to play 33-38 minutes a game, the other guys are better and he loses focus on the glass for long stretches of the season. I live in the LA area, I know how many times people use "engaged Bynum" and "focused Bynum" to explain how he's finally gonna bust out. That's the problem, you don't get "engaged and focused" Andrew Bynum for longer than 2 months in a season. I don't know how someone could argue that Bynum is a great rebounder when he gets double digit rebounding games in only 28% of his games and has never qualified for a double digit rebounding season
Gasol isn't a terrific rebounder either.

Neither. Bynum can't be a guy you build around when he's hurt, and Lopez isn't talented enough.

If I had to pick? I'd take whichever trade lets Orlando get more picks/offload more of our bad contracts to start rebuilding.

He def looked good. I can def see him getting hurt again with all that falling and diving too. Once lakers and bryant buy into working inside out and make drew the #1 option they might go far this year. It seems like teams always choke against the lakers so they have a good shot

he hasnt had 1 good season, hes had 4, as you can see by my post. and the other one actually wasnt bad, its better than Brook Lopez the last 2 years lol. and bear in mind this is with Drew playing next to Odom/Gasol.

With his limited post game he can still put up great numbers everynight.the reason he doesn't is because he gets double and triple teamed every night.

of course Howard is better than Bynum, only a real homer wouldnt be able to see that. thats not the point of this thread. its just to let everyone know that Bynum's per minute numbers and impact (which have been relatively elite) is not a fluke. he is capable of getting more touches and playing more minutes and still beast. at least thats what most of us are predicting, this season is really gonna be Bynums breakout year.

False. There have been hundreds of 7 footers come through the NBA who can't do what he can. He's a fairly average athlete, but he's got tremendous touch and body control for a big man. If it was that easy to put up 29 points in 32 minutes, you'd see a lot more bigs do it.

True. Howard has proven himself over and over and over again. Andrew, so far, has yet to have even one full, dominant season. Consistently and health are huge questions, whereas you can pretty much guarantee two-way dominance from Howarad on a nightly and annual basis.
