Bynum was not anywhere near the centerpiece for those championships he has. That was still Kobe. Am I supposed to believe a 7 PPG, 8 RPG player was the one responsible for winning those rings?

Pau Gasol didnt have a good back up center in the Lakers championship runs. In 2008 they lost against Boston, and the Lakers frontline was odom.gasol and turiaf. In 2009, Bynum played the finals, but he was unhealthy. Gasol did a great job against Howard, and odom help him very well. In 2010, Bynum got injured in the middle of the finals, and he played basically injured.

Drew definitely helped out more in 2010 than he did in 2009 no doubt, but he still averaged 19-20 Mpg against Orlando which was 19-20 minutes Gasol got to match up with Lewis instead of Howard.

In 2010 Bynum played hurt, but he still played, and his being out there put Garnett and Wallace on Gasol instead of Perkins whom he struggled against in '08. No one is saying that Drew did it all by himself, but he was a very large contributing factor and it's absurd to suggest that "Gasol was basically alone against the Celtics' frontcourt", especially since Odom also played some big minutes for LA up front as well.

No honest objective NBA fan is in shock..The ones who are downgrading bynum's potential are bias fans with agendas thinking that they need to sway the opinions of REALGM to their side in order to convince Otis Smith to trade howard to their preferred destination..

He's not a 20/10 player because he can't rebound well enough for 10 in a season

You are ignoring so many different factors that it renders your argument useless and illogical.

First, Bynum's first two seasons are not a reflection of the player that he is today. He played very few minutes which affected his career rebounding numbers. Since his third season when he started getting more minutes, he has averaged about 8.8 RPG.

Second, why are you ignoring the fact that he has played with two other 7 footers his entire career? Common sense tells you that has an impact on the amount of rebounds that he grabs. With Lamar gone this year, I have no doubt that he averages over 10 RPG. In fact, I would not be surprised to see him get close to 12 RPG.

If Bynum weren't wearing purple and gold, most of these posters would congratulate him for being healthy and having a good game just like Grant Hill for instance.But since he's on the Lakers, the cynicism permeates through the season's greetings.

Grant Hill is truly a likeable guy, Bynum not so much. I think thats why people root for him and not so much because he is a Laker.
