Fire Avery!

Post#1 » by NyCeEvO » Sun Jan 1, 2012 11:41 pm

This is ridiculous.

I've been away for a bit so I haven't been able to watch our games yet. Lo and behold, I come back and Sundiata Gaines is the starting PG, while D-Will is the starting 2-guard?

Why in the world would make one of the best PGs in the game play off the ball?

He isn't on Besiktas anymore and we're done with the preseason. Stop this idiotic crap! NO COACH IN THE LEAGUE IS PUTTING DERON WILLIAMS AT THE TWO!!

And we have both MarShon and Morrow coming off the bench.

This isn't an overreaction. This dude cannot coach. He rides the coattails of his players to success. Anyone wonder why when Deron came, he said that there won't be any disputes between him and Deron because Deron can pretty much run the team, while Avery can focus on the little things?

Please, this is the NBA! Stop this circus and fire the ring leader. He clearly does not know what he's doing.

Can't think of a better way to ensure we win sub-10 games and miss out on both Deron and Dwight.

Avery is dreadful. This Deron off the ball garbage is pathetic.

How do you play gaines and deron at the same time, how do you not play brooks, how do you forget to tell your team you have no timeouts, how do you play james/morrow so much over williams/stevenson, how long before you put petro back in...

He's a terrible coach. Doesn't change the fact that firing him right now is not even an option.

I can't remember the last time I saw a worse coached game.

Forget defense! We shot under 40% AGAIN! All of our offensive weapons should be out there.

This is ridiculous!

The starting lineup should be:
PG: D-Will
SG: MarShon
SF: Shawne Williams
PF: Hump
C: Okur

Brooks has been playing well but barely gets any burn this game.

How can you expect Shawne Williams to play well when he gets inconsistent minutes?

And this D-Will 'off-the-ball' NBA 2K12 crap needs to stop!!

I refuse to watch another game of Nets TRAGICBALL and waste another 2+ hours of my life.

If Avery continues this horrid job, I can very well see Deron wanting out. Even if D-Will and D12 want to be in Brooklyn, Avery will make sure they don't succeed.

This whole idea of Deron playing off the ball has to one of the worst coaching tactics I've seen in my life.

I have to think the off-ball thing is Deron's request/suggestion. I mean, Avery's not even creative enough to come up with an idea as bad as playing the best PG in the NBA at the 2. Deron played off ball with Besiktas and liked it, and he's apparently been feeding Avery plays from over there. Plus I think Deron prefers guarding 2s because it leaves him with more energy for the other end. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the evidence strongly suggests this. Of course Avery should be smart enough to tell him no without pissing him off, and clearly he isn't.

Even if that was the case, there's no way that Brooks and Shawne Williams should be getting so little burn.

I said before we even started the season that we need offense. Even though defense wins championships, offense wins games especially in the regular season.

It doesn't matter if we hold the other team to 90 points when we can't put up 85!

My emotions right now: :x  :o :noway: :nonono: :banghead: :curse: .....

^I really hope that isn't true because Deron should know what's best for himself. He's not a 2 guard. If he wants to play D against 2s fine, but he can't be the 2 on a team that is starved for a setup man.

He's not getting fired. The only way he gets fired is if Deron Williams runs at him while on the court. Not happening.

If this team loses 18 in a row, then I think Deron Williams would probably be laughed out of a large contract, let alone a max deal. Losing 18 games is not happening, either.

Well, he already angrily waived him off while shouting during the I believe the Magic game, maybe it was the 2nd Hawks game, I forgot which one.

I think Avery said he got this idea of having another ball handler in the starting lineup from PJ.I'd honestly rather them start Farmar at the 2 if thats the case(I'd rather start Brooks).Gaines gives us a good spark of the bench.D.James is a garbage man,Avery's in love with him because he knows the defensive system better than Shawne or Stevenson.Pick and roll, pick and pop pick pick pick pick every **** time its not that **** hard!
