Thanks for the response, Jeff. Another thing that I am curious to get you're opinion about regarding Brandon Thompson:
A) Where do you think he will end up going on draft day?
B) Do you think he is strictly limited to being a 4-3 DT or a 3-4 NT? As a Packer fan wanting a successor for Ryan Pickett, I'm wondering if he can maybe play a similar role. I'd love to trade up for him if he is capable of playing 3-4 DE

I like Thompson as a 3-technique in a 4-3, a la Suh or Geno Atkins. He reminds me a lot of Atkins, a quick gap hitter with great lower body strength and drive. He can probably play in a 3-4 but he's light (he played at about 305) for what the Packers like to have up front. He would certainly bring more disruptiveness up front, but in that scheme he's probably limited to playing in nickel packages as a pass rush specialist.
...and I don't think you'll have to worry about it, because he's a top 25 pick. Probably in the 15-20 range but could play his way up. I see him being this draft's Cam Jordan, a guy everyone likes but not quite enough to take him before the 20th pick over someone else.

I know you've always had some connections within the Browns organization... Any thoughts on what direction the Browns are looking to go in the upcoming draft?

Terrance Ganaway.
I know he had the huge game but he put well over 1000 yards up this year without it. Is he an NFL level prospect, and if so, how high will he go?

I'm actually doing a little tidbit on him in this week's $.10. I like him a lot more than most do. I see a whole lot of Rashard Mendenhall in him. He's clearly faster than the 4.65 listed on his ESPN bio. I've got him as a 3rd rounder but it's more likely he is a 4th/5th. I might even move him up a bit from that.
Two things the casual fan won't notice about him from just one game:
--he's excellent in blitz pickup and pass protection
--he's an exceptional lead blocker when RG3 tucked and ran

Not really a draft question, but if the Niners go deep in the playoffs (NFC Championship or win/lose in Super Bowl), do you see them losing either their defense or special teams coach to a different team for a head coaching position? Seems like both have really had their stock rise this year, although Brad Seely has always been one of the best in the game for a few years now.

Their defensive coordinator is new this year, and Fangio is strictly a coordinator type. He's happy with that too.
Brad Seely could be in line to move. I suspect he'll get interviews but not a job. He's already got the assistant head coach tag so he would have to get a head coaching job to move.

Colts-QB, CB, DE. They are taking Andrew Luck. 2nd round pick will be interesting.
Rams-CBx2, WR, OL, maybe RB
Vikes-OT, CB, DT, OLB
Skins-QB, G/C, NT, RB
Jags-WRx3, RT, S
Fins-TE, QB, LB, G/RT
Panthers-DT, S, OLB
Bills-pass rushers, WR, CB, #2 QB
I'll add:
Bucs-CB, OLBx2, RBx2, S
Browns-QB, WR, RT, speedy RB
I'm doing a mock this week.

Re: Ask Jeff Risdon a question thread
Jeff, would the Vikings consider taking Trent Richardson with their pick? RB's don't exactly have a great track record coming back from torn ACL's and Toby G will never be a good #1 RB...could Richardson fill a possible need?

Also, would the Browns take Justin Blackmon at #4?

I really doubt it. They cannot go into 2012 with Charlie Johnson and Phil Loadholt as their starting tackles, with only Demarcus Love as a backup. Loadholt doesn't suck but they finished 25th in sack percentage. They could be making some staff changes (not Frazier) and that might impact things too.

I'll know more about it later today, but I strongly suspect the Browns are more interested in upgrading at QB than WR in the draft. If they don't like the QB options or Richardson there, Blackmon has to be a strong consideration. He's exactly what that offense needs, a guy that can get open, catch the ball and turn a 8-yard pass into a 25 yard gain.

On that note, it seems like a lot of teams are going to be looking for a starting right tackle this year. Who are your top RT's in this draft? Zebrie Sanders from FSU? I know Potter played RT at Boise in the past, could he move there in the NFL? Who else?

Obviously hypothetical, but if every starting OL from Wisconsin declared for the draft today, where would they go?

Re: Ask Jeff Risdon a question thread
There is a growing demand for right tackles as more teams have figured out to attack right handed QBs by running at their face and forcing them left, which I've been screaming at teams to do for years. Never made sense to me why you attack his backside and force him to roll to his strong side.
Mike Adams is the top RT. Sanders is next. Kelechi Osemele is probably better at guard but could play RT if needed. Amini Silatolu is the same way, giant guy from Midwestern State. James Brown from Troy has potential. Schwartz from Cal can play RT. Potter is a RT but I really don't think he's an NFL talent.

Konz fits in the 30-45 overall range. He's killing it against Oregon too.
Zeitler is 50-75 overall range
Wagner would be a 3rd this year but should grow into a late 1st/mid 2nd next year
Travis Frederick would go 3rd/4th this year, probably.
Oglesby is probably undraftable because of all the knee issues. He's less impressive the more I see of him, a good college blocker but kinda sloppy for a guy from that program. With a clean bill of health he'd go 5th-6th round.
I haven't really seen him but there is already buzz around the Havenstein guy, the giant freshman.
