Weird, you're making that comment right after Williams actually played a pretty decent game, by far his best game out of the four, and arguably his best game since the trade. He showed what he was capable of. Made some really nice passes (our bigs just couldn't finish or couldn't catch), and he was hitting his shots.

didnt see the game maybe thats why. i mean hes right there with paul but i feel like paul has more of that edge and desire to win, or wont get lost in the game. i think its just the situation that williams is in, lets be honest, we are a very **** team right now and being in a losing environment would just drain anyone. i just feel if u replaced williams with paul on this nets team that he would command more out of his team and get on them to play better.

Yep, fair enough, I do get that feeling from Paul too, but who knows really? He might get drained too.

I do think Paul is slightly better than Deron, but if Deron picks up his game and plays the way he's capable of, I think he's easily a top 3 PG in the league, probably 2nd best, and might be the best depending on the night. That's what made those first 3 games and the first half of today so frustrating, because he's clearly capable of playing so much better.

Deron is a 20/10 guy that's efficient and a good defender. Paul's knees worry me, and he's regressed slowly the past couple of years. Can guard any 1 and a lot of 2s; hell, he was guarding Joe Johnson a bunch tonight.

If we were comparing CP3/DWill side-by-side, I would take DWill over CP3 as an overall player. It's not fair to assess DWill right now...we'll see what happens.

Netsdaily editors are doing everything they can to remain optimistic Deron is staying. I'm not drinking the kool aid unless we get Dwight.

On a side note, I believe that making trades all the time get you no where. Never enough time to let you team gell. If Dwight ends up there, we will get your other young talent, picks and give you a bad contract or 2. So even then for you it will take a while to get a team that will compete into the later rounds. It is just not that easy for any team.

Both cant go to Dallas

And why can't they both go to Dallas ? Dallas will be able to create plenty of cap room to get both.

Dirk-20,907,128
Roddy-2,227,332
Williams-1,300,000(Team option)
Dojo-1,276,560
Wright-947,907(Team option)
26,658,927(33,341,073 cap space)
Howard & Dwill sign for-16,500,000

Marion-8,646,364
Haywood-8,349,000
Odom-8,200,000( Team option)
Carter-3,000,000( 2 more yrs unguaranteed )

Marion 2 years left could be traded with Odom and Carter and Haywood amnestied.

Kidd-Free agent (Vet Min)
Terry-Free agent (Vet Min or MLE)
Mahinmi-Free agent
West-Free agent
Cardinal-Free agent
Yi-Free agent

Mavs still interested in Fesenko 1 yr deal that makes 16 players meaning a possible trade coming.

If $16,500,000 isn't enough for both then they can waive the team options of Wright and Williams and create another $2,200,000 giving Howard and Dwill $17,600,000

Point is there is a heck of alot to be moved just to have a chance at both, with cap holds and all that. Williams to Dallas I get, you will easily have the space. But both? can't see it personally.

But who would trade for Marion (and to a lesser extant VC)?

Marion's contract is a much bigger roadblock than you think. Championship contenders aren't going to trade for Marion because he'll be too old (34 in May).

If the amnesty rule did not exist, I could see another team trading for him but only for giving up a worse contract. But since it does exist and teams can unload their bad contracts on their own, I think you'll find even less takers for Marion.

I'm not saying it won't happen, but assuming that Marion and VC can be traded in no time is definitely an exaggeration.

Sheesh, these Mavs homers are obnoxious.

Someone tell this guy there are such things as cap holds for every empty spot under the league's minimum 13-player roster. Each of those cap holds would add nearly half a million against your cap. Also you're assuming moving Marion would be easy. As a source told Woj, doing so without a pick to attach to him until 2014 would be hard.

And for the 100000000000000th time, the Nets are Dwight's number one option. If he and Deron going to Dallas was both possible and something they both were interested in, Dallas, not us, would be Dwight's #1 preferred destination. The fact that they aren't should tell you something.

I'm not gonna hold it against Deron when he leaves us in FA. Who wants to play with the garbage on this team.

The only player that he would actually care about on this team is MarShon. Everyone else is garbagio.

It's just he has to realize that we wouldn't be this bad with Lopez, which is no one's fault.

He also has already acknowledged that he realized how the team didn't make any move that jeopardized the salary cap for Dwight

No doubt he's going to be rightfully pissed to waste a year of his prime, but he must understand the situation and reasons why.

Would he really be happier if we were the 7 seed for the next 5 years with no shot at a title? Deron's too smart to not look at the entire picture.

I'm pretty sure he realizes what is going on right now. It's a roster put together with a lot of 1-year deals so that Nets can preserve cap space for Dwight Howard and 2012 free agency. That being said, Deron is hurting his own value right now with the way the Nets (And Deron) are playing. I think Deron would be having double digit assists every game if it wasn't for his crap teammates. But there is no excuse for how he's shooting the ball. His wrist is supposed to be healed (it's probably not fully healed) but he still can hardly shoot the ball. Today, he mostly played it smart by attacking the basket, because he doesn't have much confidence in his shot right now.

The Nets have given Deron the keys to the team. They haven't made a move he didn't ask for, and that isn't going to happen anywhere else.

Even he's acknowledged avoiding long-term commitments is the way to go when you're building.

Prok and Billy have both done their best to distract Deron with promises of the future but I fear it's not even close to enough to keep Deron here.

Think of it this way, if you owned a stock that people were telling you would increase in value three fold in the next 1-2 years, but it was falling like a rock in the present, would you want to hold on to that stock or get out?

It's one thing if we're remaining competitive in the games we're losing, but we're getting blown out of the game in the 1st quarter. Add to the fact that we're playing on average 4 games every week, Deron's going to feel like the sky is falling.

I've watched Deron's body language very closely all these games, and the frustration he's showing is off the charts.

Deron stays if Dwight comes. Deron leaves if he doesn't. It's really simple as that.

Deron knows this isn't the team that'll be surrounding him next year, and I wouldn't want to waste my prime playing for a rebuilding team. But if Dwight signs/traded here, why would he leave?

Ya, man, that's going to be the starting lineup after we get Dwight :)

It's supposed to happen in the next 48 hours, in case you didn't hear.

48 hours what? We get Dwight? Link me.
12-70. Never Forget. Moment of silence for all the fans lost during that battle.
