Impressive Mc Grady...

Post#1 » by FCNATL85 » Tue Jan 3, 2012 4:26 am

Not only by his shooting ('cause you know he can be off next game...but also can still turn it on).
I am mostly impressed by the quality of his all around game, to the point that the Hawks who were missing a leader during the crucial time of a game, now have one.
He passes, rebounds and scores, has great anticipation (near steal on JJ, pass to Al underneath after a drive...) and commends respect.
He should have a great impact on player like JT, Smoothe and Marvin especially (not mentioning other bench players like Pargo, Vlad or Green) . He radiates confidence at a level that Hawks players have not seen before...except when JC1 was going on a shooting rampage...but TMac does it all again with rbds and assists, in addition to his scoring.
The way I see it, if he stays healthy with 20-25' max during the regular season, it could be a key asset during the postseason.
Got to love to see him play with such intelligence and pleasure. Very smart player understanding his role and making the most of it for the team.

There were times when he looked like his old self. How many times does he have to do this before we can start dreaming?

And forgive the correction, but I think it's Smoove, not Smoothe.
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

His stroke from three was unbelievably smooth. I hope TMac can keep it up. Great signing!

every team passed on him...I hope he torches every single team that ever passed him up, specially the championship contender ones like the Heat and the Bulls, who probably were one piece away from really getting a championship.

I hope he lights the Bulls up tonight, you don't disrespect a guy like that, joke of players were getting higher than vet deals.

Agree that we should not be surprised for his scoring ability, but these young Hawks need some leadership or experience to get over the hump. Crawford can score like TMac but the maturity he bring to the team.
Cheer up T-Mac

I was surprise Hawks gave McGrady a shot. I like most thought his career was done in Detroit. I didn't watch many Piston games and when I did T-Mac didn't see much minutes. But he was always doing the little things. Its good to see him in a Hawks jersey. Hopefully he doesn't get hurt. I'm so happy T-Mac signed with Hawks. I might actually go a hawks game.

well, last night this "leader" couldn't even go back in the game during the crucial 2nd and 3rd overtimes, because...he stiffened up? he couldn't help the team win because "I sat down for too long." huh? leader? :x

and this is coming from a huge t-mac fan. the dude is just so frustrating sometimes...

he better make up for it tonight and tomorrow night....or else!
