Waive Najera?
So FO doesn't want to pay someone to not play, but in Najera's case he's not playing anyway. Why not waive him and bring in a young player who will actually play to fill his spot?

Re: Waive Najera?
Who's minutes should we reduce to play the new player?
We need to shop Dj, Diaw.
We want to play everyone else for development or see what they got.
A new player would get garbage minutes at most, like Higgins, if Higgins is crap waive him and sign someone.
We might need Najera's contract as a throw in for a trade to have salaries match.
Doesn't seem worth the money/time to do it.

Keep Najera & package his expiring+1.5mTPE for a backup SG.

Love this idea. Give him Gana's minutes while Gana's riding the stationary trying to lose weight.

You got it! You don't waive an expiring contract until you have pursued all trade avenues. Believe it or not come trade deadline some contending team is probably gonna want to rent Eddie's five fouls for the playoffs.

Eh, I figure if someone was floating around that rated high in Cho's database, we would've signed them over Rod's kiddo. Having written that, we ought to do the right thing and cut Najera after the trade deadline regardless...

Re: Waive Najera?
Hang onto Najera to trade him for some bust draft pick that the Bobcats can use as a rental. Either a playoff team or a team in need a warm body to eat up some minutes. The Kings' Donte Greene would be a good fit here, but a 3rd team would need to get involved.
