question from Mavs fan
I am wondering what fans of other teams think about our acquisition of Lamar Odom. Do you think it is odd we could get him from the Lakers for essentially a bag of jelly beans?

This is not really a question about the Mavericks. It is about the league brass (or possibly the Lakers management).

OK, I'll answer the question here. The Lakers ****ed Odom around, they felt bad and figured they'd make him happy and send him off somewhere. The Lakers clearly wanted to shed salary and that Paul trade was also about shedding salary. They were seemingly OK with taking themselves out of the short term picture in the west with that Paul trade anyway, so now they're probably looking to make deals because they figured their day was done with their current team.

GOMavs posts the same question on every board. He's either a troll or can't form his own opinion after many people gave their obvious opinion on this matter.

This is not true. I posted it on 3 boards: the Rockets and Spurs because they are also Texas teams, and the Kings because of how they got messed over in the playoffs against the Lakers (years ago, but still fresh in my memory). And, frustratingly, I have only gotten actual answers to my question from 2 people. Finally, I did have my own opinion of the matter coming it, but the two responses have caused me to temper my position somewhat.
