Is John Wall a bust??

Post#1 » by DusterBuster » Thu Jan 5, 2012 2:46 am

This guy was touted as the next D-Rose, a franchise changing PG. To say he's not been that is a huge understatement.

Slow start to the season. But he hasn't progressed the way I thought, I wouldn't say bust just yet.

Dude's in an awful situation. A bunch of selfish knuckleheads surround him. Get him on a team where it's more of an actual team with some veteran presence, and he'll explode. Nick Young is a **** goon, McGee is (Please Use More Appropriate Word) but has hope, Blatche..no lol.Crawford thinks he's better than MJ, the team is just made up of a bunch of goons. He can't lead this group. Then there's Flip....

Step 5: Refused to be classified as Laker "bandwagoner" since Heat formed.

OT: just a bad start, you cant label a player a bust a few games into his sophmore season.

Let me tell you something David Thorpe (A man I respect highly) likes saying:
"Here's the thing you all just know-put D Rose in Jersey and Lopez in Chicago-just one year ago-and see how different both men are. Rose exploded when TT got there, though he was obviously very good prior to his arrival. Lopez is stuck on a horrible franchise-perhaps he is to blame some but players prosper when they are swimming with the current, not against it."

Replace Brook Lopez with John Wall. I won't properly rate Wall until he has a legit ORGANIZation around him. And NO, Wall is not a bust, not even close

I agree that John is in a weird situation...He's on a team that's not really a team...Every time i just so happen to catch a game i feel like i'm watching one of those charity games...a lot of selfish play and 1on1 iso situation from young and blatche...You got Jordan Crawford thinking he is going to be better than Jordan....Well they should get a high pick in this loaded draft....they should get a Real Center and have Javale play PF

Not surprised Thorpe would say that, he ranked Lopez ahead of Rose not too long ago.

He's just a victim of circumstance.

He needs to learn how to play HALF COURT basketball.

John beasts through the summer and the past because there's a lot of open court (and weaker defences). It's easy when you're a physical specimen to dominate when there isn't a lot of strategy or structure in place.....he needs to become a more cerebral player.

Right now he just looks like a kid who thinks he can just physically dominate players only to find out the harsh truth that he can't.

He is doing nothing to help turn the Wizards around, don't try that excuse.

He's a mediocre point guard with tremendous athletic ability until proven otherwise.

I'm not trying to degrade Rose's skills or success but I do think he has a leg up on some other young players when it comes to organization
