not sure how desperate houston if but i would kill for that scola/martin deal they were offering for gasol

i would do amare for scola straight up . .. maybe. scola is kind of old though. i would target bargnani because he's younger and he and melo can both play inside and outside.

not sure i'd go that far because we're doing everything in our power to bring in nash next year and amare can at least go back to being a zero sum player. the fact that we have to blow our mle on what will be a 38 year old faciliator to get anything out of amare will end up being a real problem with our shaky frontcourt depth though.

there is a good case to be made against amare. it's not just "hating" to say that. in the perfect storm like he had in phoenix, he can be good for a team (he was also MUCH more athletic when dropping 37ppg on Duncan by the way . . . MUCH) but next to carmelo? i don't know. carmelo is a half court player. you'd want a half court big next to him. someone who can post up and play intelligently. amare isn't refined enough to give you that. he needs speed, spacing, and a point guard to be effective.

plus he is a BUM on defense and doesn't box out (which is mind boggling).

makes a lot more sense. those guys can give you nearly as much scoring as amare can, and can play off of carmelo better.

I wouldn't trade him now. Let's wait until he has a few 28 pt 10 reb games in a row when the league falls back in love with him. Based on how he is moving out there I'm convinced his back is a major concern & definitely causing him issues. Having the "best frontcourt" is meaningless if the chemistry is non-existent.

Fields and Amare are more effective when the ball moves. Teams are collasping on amare on the roll and with no pg the offense turns static.

Amare is a bafoon on the defense....his pnr defense rivals eddy curry and he always seems to be in the wrong position.

If we can work a 3 way trade with GS & LAC I would take Lee & Mo Will for Stat. We need to balance this roster & add depth.

He is not get traded he staying here whether you like it or not he is in here for long hall. Was stat defense bad tonight yes it was so was everybody else sucked on d tonight you guys need to stop freaking out after every loss stop doing traded everybody threads it just looks stupid on everybody part. Its too early to give up on stat. I know some of you think it would be best to try to move him while his value is at its highest....but this is foolish and over reacting.

I hope Tyson and Stat eventually start to click on the defense....because our interior defense was trash tonight. But at the end credit Mullens and Diaw for spreading the offense with their shooting. With that said....our team has to adjust

People who love STAT because he signed here last season need to GTFO. Wake up, we PAYED the man 100 million dollars. We guaranteed his ENTIRE contract. No other team would do that, that's why he signed here.

He's a waste on this team right now... useless without a PG. Worst defensive forward (player?) in the entire NBA. Oh and his knees are a ticking time bomb.

Seriously I'd trade him to a team like the Rockets if they'd give us Scola and Lowry or something like that.
