The Wolves can win by following this formula
< 16 TO + > 75% FT = win.
Every loss thus far has been because of their failure to follow this.

They are averaging a +3.6 point differential.

15TO and 75% from the line is not asking a lot. 16 teams are able to do this.

Yeah, it is a simple enough formula. I think the TOs should go down a bit as Rubio gets more minutes and as everyone gets used to playing with him. Basically, we are fine when he initiates everything. It seems like almost any time anyone besides him tries to make even a simple pass it leads to a silly TO. We have to remember that most of these guys were the on the team last year that was just atrocious in the TO department. Some of that is on Rambis, but definitely not all of it.
As far as the FTs, I think its just a mental hurdle that guys will have to get over. There is no logical explanation for it.
Anyways, it will be interesting to keep an eye on this formula as the season goes on.

My formula --> Ridnour = DNP-CD.

Kinda have to wait until JJ, Webster and Lee are all healthy to do that, because no matter what you can say about Ridnour, id rather have him on the floor than Wes or Ellington

I don't ever like to see him on the floor with Ricky though. I would rather see Wes or Ellington. They may miss shots but Luke brings down the whole team by over dribbling and poor decisions. The other guys will just make or miss shots.

Re: The Wolves can win by following this formula
I am far from a Luke loyayist, but I have actually been pleasantly surprised by him. While I don't think he is anything special, as far as individual players who need work or need to go he isn't even in my top three (unless their is decent value for him). He had some boneheaded plays last night but so did everyone. Rubio had two awful TOs, passes basically to no one, why isn't he being ripped?
My biggest beef is with Wes. Wes has done nothing at all for us. As a top 5 pick, starting role, he needs to pick his game up. I never even consider, oh Wes could go off tonight and really take it to the other team. He is basically corey brewer with a nicer looking shot (same percentage maybe) and a worse defender. Even if we put him into proper position I would still prefer Beasley and Williams over him. Simply not working out IMO.

Re: The Wolves can win by following this formula
Turnovers and poor free throw shoot are the main culprits, and they can be fixed.
Beasley had 5 turnovers, 0-2 from the line. That is unacceptable.
Rubio went 0-2 from the line. Randolph and Williams shot 50% from the line.
Wes is also shooting himself out of a job. He is unreliable, and I have come to terms with that. Which is why I have no problems with Luke's performance so far. Luke is not killing this team's success.
If you do want to pin it on one guy, pin it on Beasley. He is averaging a terrible 35% from the line and 3 TO for the past 5 games.

I think some of that is getting use to Adelman's ball movement heavy offense and part of it is guys being inspired by Rubio to try to make passes where they shouldn't. The ball movement is great but guys like Beasley, Ridnour, and Tolliver need to settle down a bit and not try to do too much. I think the turnovers will start dropping with a lttle time. Adelman won't stand for it forever anyway.
The FT misses is just unacceptable. There is no excuse. That is just guys not being locked in mentally.

because Luke is destroying the entire offense with his selfish play(I honestly think he is worried about losing his starting spot to Ricky), poor decisions etc. Wes may miss shots but he isn't distorting the offense and putting other players in bad positions because of his poor play. Last night was a prime example of Ridnour's poor passing putting other players in bad positions. The T-Wolves will have much less TO's when they are healthy to the point where Ridnour is not playing.
Ridnour can't run the offense and because of that he needs to go and take a seat as soon as possible.

Re: The Wolves can win by following this formula
Agreed. Rubio will have some turnovers, especially early but the offensive flow is night and day between Ridnour and Rubio. I'm fine with having Ridnour out there if Rubio is also in the game because Ridnour is a good shooter but giving him the ball full-time and telling hiim to run the offense hasn't worked out at all.
Watching the game last night, Memphis got a big lead early while Minnesota's offense just stood around. When Rubio is in, everyone is moving and there is a lot more passing.

I have also grown increasingly frustrated with Wes. At this point, I'd take Beasley and his shaky decision making over Wes. It at least seems like beas is trying to make things happen and he occassionally gets hot. Wes is just playing way too passive and unassertive. I forget he is even there.
One way or another, if we can sure up our wing play (DWill's development will obviously play a big role here) I finally like the direction of our squad.

Would you like to explain how Ridnour destroyed our offense while getting 19 points, 9 assists in a winning effort against the Spurs? I agree that Luke should not be starting, but to say that he is the biggest problem on this team is not true. His role should be tuned down, but as of right now we have no other guard options with Barea, Lee, and Webster out. I could not stand Luke last year, but I just think he has taken more heat than deserved this year. Hell, he is shooting 54% from the field this year (2nd to AR15).

Re: The Wolves can win by following this formula
Well at least he has had one good game out of six unlike Wes and Beas (arguably).
Also, Sikma, do you really think Luke is that dumb that he doesn't realize his starting role is about to be gone? Come on. I would bet he has heard the cheers the moment Rubio stands up to enter the game. He knows it is a matter of time and I am sure he understands why. I don't get a Diva vibe from Luke. He just wants to win games.
