The Atlanta Hawks Need A Quality Starting PG

Jeff Teague isn't ready to be a starter for a contender.

Image

No he isn't the alpha of all of their problems because the Hawks in general are a very selfish team and he's a decent player who needs to develop w/ a younger or rebuilding team or get back on the bench cause as the starting PG he definitely needs to run the team more than he does.

He'll practically dribble out the clock for his own shot or pass the ball last resort. He will run the offense sometimes, I'll give him that but the selfish nature of this team needs a brain out there on the court and man...they don't have it.

Horford can't hardly sniff any offense unless he gets a rebound off someone's miss (that's a stretch but close to reality).

Get these guys a PG and they'll do great, w/ out one, they'll fall short as usual.

Just my opinion.

What's that got to do with the Hawks?

Seriously, point well taken. I expected way more out of Teague based on the Chicago series.

Took me a minute to get that one.

Yeah I thought he'd be better than he's showing.

They'll be talking about contracting the Hawks next season when Joe Johnson becomes a complete scrub.

They need intelligence. We would be so much better if the team wasnt full of boneheads.

This. They are a joke, always making some good streaks, and rare games and failing miserably in the playoffs.

I really believe the Hawks should trade for Steve Nash. Nash would help so much. Their defense is there, they just need a PG to get their flow going, and this would give Nash a chance at a ring, and would make the Hawks deadly. Having a potential lineup of Nash-JJ-Williams-Smith-Hortford is really good.

They need to stop overvalueing their players and trade for a center.

This.

It's a start at least. Teague may have more "talent", but not enough. Have him as the 6th and let Capt. Kirk calm things down and run the main unit.

That's just one part of the equation. They need to shake the roster up some - or at least get that Ivan Johnson some more minutes. He looks to be able to bring some nasty to that club.

As already stated, it's a good thing the Hawks aren't a contender.

The Hawks need to blow it up solely for the culture change that needs to happen. No accountability, the only guys playing hard are undrafted rookies or vets looking for a shot at something bigger. I mean, talented roster but they corrupted themselves so much that it has to go.
