Nothing particularly special, aside from the fact he's a well-rounded, intense player. Not a 1st or even 2nd option on offense I don't think, but he could be a nice impact player to fill our SF position, particularly if we end up drafting 5th or 6th. I'm sure if we miss out on a top pick he's the kind of player BC/Casey would like to have as a consolation prize.

He's also the best defender on his team, plays exceptional defense because of his length/athleticism/smart, he has a chance to be a lock-down defender in the NBA.

Count me in for drafting MKG and trading ED for Kabongo. Lamb and Barnes would both be nice fallbacks though.

He also is a great playmaker for a forward, with great vision and passing ability, and his tenacity would be a welcome addition.

if by some chance we do better than expected, who are some players we should look at if say, we end up in the 10-15 range?

My ideal offseason is:

Draft MKG (or best SF available)

Trading Jose to get Kabongo+ bench depth/salary match

Sign Nash for 1-2 seasons so he can retire a raptor :D (Plus mentor Myck)

Nash/Kabongo
Demar/Bayless
MGK/JJ and/or Vet
Andrea/ED
Val/Amir/ keep Magloire player coach

I think that's a solid lineup with a mix of high upside/vet leadership and offense/defense.

*having 3 rookies in the lineup would also be fun to watch plus the amount of Canadian content with Nash, big cat and Myck

If we end up making the playoffs, i'm guessing people wouldn't take well to the idea of trading Ed Davis and our pick for a pick that nets us MKG.

I'd be all for it, but an NBA championship is Nash's top priority. Only way we sign Nash is if he gets traded midseason and wins it all this year, and wants to swan song it back on the home soil...

I think trading ED for Kabongo makes the most sense. Jose has been decent this year and could be a solid stopgap until Kabongo is ready, and we do have him under contract already...

I like the wins, I just hope we are in a position to draft 1 of Lamb/MKG/Barnes. Alogn with ED for MK, and we got ourselves:

Calderon/Kabongo/(Bayless)
DeRozan/Bayless
(MKG/Lamb/Barnes)/JJohnson
Bargnani/Amir
Valanciunas/Amir/Magloire

We do that and we are in business.

I'd pick Austin River but then Demar will be switched to 3 spot which I don't think is a good idea. That's why I'd much rather pick Kabongo.

i think shawn marion with maybe a bit more offensive potential but probably not quite the springs (especially the second hop)

Why does everyone want Kabongo? What has that kid really done in the NCAA this season, and who says he is coming out of the draft this year? Maybe he wants to stay a year or 2.

Think Joey Graham with a good head on the shoulder. MKG has comparable body and athletisism, but plays smart and plays with heart and soul. He is great rebounder for his size, solid dribble but not great; mainly played without ball-in-hand; constantly create scoring opportunity by making himself available to attack the basket; does the garbage works; should able to guard both SF and PF.

As SF, he lacks some guard skills, needs to improve the jump shot. The way he plays right now is more like a PF, his teammate, Terrence Jones plays more like a SF.

While DD developed 3pt shot, MKG fits in Raptors as SF very well because he can cover Bargnani's main weakness, rebound.

I only watch a few games, he probably can improve on some of the areas that I mentioned.

Anyone else like Aaron Craft as a second round pick?

He looks like a borderline starting PG in NBA to me, something like Eric Snow in the Philly days with 3pt range.

According to DX

Terrance Jones - 10
Jeremy Lamb - 11
Quincy Miller - 12
Meyers Leonard - 13
Terrance Ross - 14
Tyler Zeller 15

If mocks stay around the same.. I'd think about taking Terrance Ross. Saw one game. Looked great. Interchangeable between SG/SF, hits 3's and plays D. Not bad. I wanna watching another game of his though.

I wouldn't mind. I only saw one game. He played good d and hit his shoots. Not sure how he will translate at the nba level. But with a second rounder it can't hurt.

Exactly.

I'm down with moving Ed but only if our pick lands in the Top 3. Our choices at that point would be one of Drummond, Davis or PJIII. When we choose one of of those three, THEN we could look to move Davis for a SF. Doesn't have to be one in the draft (I'd move him for Gallo or Batum if those options are available) but Miller will likely slide due to his injury and subpar production just like Ed Davis slipped to us in 2010. MKG is another option we have as well as a potential target for trading Ed.

By this time, I would hope that a combination of Bargs, Barbosa and/or Bayless (if he doesn't show up this year) have been moved in packages that net us pick(s). With that pick, we take Tony Wroten. a guy who seems to be flying under the radar. Sign another C and a SG like Fernandez or Mayo (whoevers cheaper to be a bench sparkplug)

Wroten/Calderon
DeMar/Fernandez or Mayo/Weems
Q.Mill or MKG/Johnson/ VET SF
PJIII, Drummond or Davis/Johnson/ VET PF
Val/ FA C (Lopez?)/ Magloire

That's a scary core that contends in the near future.

really unrealistic imo. Plus starting 3 rookies? But I'd love to grab a pg/sf in this draft along with the top 1-4 pick. Not sure how possible it would be for B.C to grab a second pick.

If Bargnani and DeRozan continue to look like a legit 1-2 on offence, MKG will be the best player for this team.
