Well, I think this is just one of those nights, but I see what u mean; one of the reasons I was not behind Danny "expanding his game" with more driving and dribbling. He's a shooter, plain and simple. Knock down 3s, occasional post up and drive, ala Reggie or Ray. I want to keep Danny, but he's got to accept his role, and the coaching staff has to recognize that as well.

Spo is being a bit of a jerk. No need to keep Lebron in when teams up by 30

Bron probably wanted that triple-double.
It wasn't a difference in talent tonight. It was a difference in execution. The effort was there, but we didn't take them out of their offense and didn't get in ours.

this is embarrassing.
d-wade is out, we have
a complete and healthy
starting 5, yet we're
blown out.
this was a test of
team character and,
well, we fell short.
but we take the good
ones with the bad,
i suppose.
and maybe true character
will come from how
we bounce back from
this.

We telegraphed so much, and Danny and Tyler aren't as dependable on their shots anymore. Tyler's hand is hurting. What the hell is going on with Danny?

We just need to mature. Recognize things like the postups weren't really working, Paul had it going early and we should give him the ball more, DC seeing that the offense is struggling and take over a bit more. It was a very bad game vs. a very good team. Let's get it in Boston...

Collison had it going in the 3rd. Hibbert and George are the future.

^Most def. I really feel good about the present, but even better about our future. I just need DC to take more control of the O. I've been waiting for the PNR to come to Indy for a decade, and now we have 2 PFs who can run it, and we rarely see it after the 1st qtr. I know I sound like a broken record, but u have to see that the ISOs weren't working, both coach and player, and make adjustments. That's the next step.

Re: Game 6: Pacers @ Heat 01/04/12, 7:30 EST
The 2nd quarter was fatal.
Regardless, i believe we have the pieces to open this offense up, especially when hibbert is catching a breather. Currently DC hurries it across midcourt and then waits for sh^! to happen.
I'd like for him to push it like a mad man into the lane everytime. If the rest of the team can play at the same pace, then I like our chances of converting much easier shots. Anything is better than relying on contested jumpshots.
If we must run half-court sets, Paul and Danny need to start looking for their screens, instead of standing in one spot behind the three. I agree with the lack of motion.

He can't really penetrate with the ball in his hands unless he gets a screen. He's a very weak ballhandler for a point guard. Quinn Buckner called him a shooting guard a few nights ago. That's really what he is. He's not a good passer or ballhandler. He probably shouldn't be a starter for any team. We won't be able to take that next step as a team until we get a real point guard.

Lawl, we're only 6 games into a shortened season with very little training camp AND Granger is a notorious slow starter. I'm not concerned in the slightest. For years the problem has been on the defensive end, just wait a few weeks until the offense kicks into gear, THEN if we lose like this we can be upset.

If having the worst qualified scorer on your team doesn't concern you, what does?
He has been on the decline since 2 years, was called out by Bird last year and now he starts a short season with worse shooting than Stephen freaking Jackson?!
Someone needs to bring out the question marks, whether it is Danny or Larry.

The problem IMO with Danny is he is having a trouble adapting to the better players around him that need the ball just as much as he does. Two years ago he had a bunch of shooters, TJ, and a young Hibbert. He was THE GUY for the team. From what I've seen this year he is having trouble understanding where to be when he doesn't have the ball.
Right now he is a ball stopper on offense. He wants to get his when he gets the ball, and that selfishness rubs off on the other players because he is the leader of the team. One move he does well though is the pin he does by the basket to get an easy layup. When our sets are run correctly it usually starts in the post, then the players rotate to receive passes out of the post, not with Danny, most his moves are a quick jumper, a drive ( which he lacks the foot speed and ballhandling to get to the rim), and an offensive foul because he forces his way. He should focus more on defense because he isn't THE GUY anymore. We are a team.
I've been impressed though with David West. He is trying to play unselfish and pass the ball when we are in the "ME ME ME mode" but he's only one player, and it's not his team. His legs will come back to him.
Paul George needs to work on his ballhandling. With even the slightest pressure he fumbles the ball, but he is young and will most likely get more comfortable with his body.
Darren Collison has been a serviceable player, but I cannot understand why he can't get to the rim with his quickness. It could just be how skinny he is.
Roy Hibbert just needs to be more aggressive and demand the ball, everything else will work itself out with him.
I apologize for the Danny rant, but something has to change with him this won't work.

It will take a long time for him to adapt. He's a volume scorer on a team that no longer requires it. He's a smart player and I assume after a while he will start to adjust, but I don't expect it to happen soon.
It's a completely new system, we're shooting like garbage and are 4-2, good things are on the horizon.
