That makes complete sense... since without Tyson who was gotten using the amnesty the Knicks would have another year of Amar'e at center which would almost guarantee him breaking down and thus needing to use the amnesty on him.

That is what I believed in too and I applouded the Tyson move. But it looks like Amare is already breaking down.

This thread and some of these comments are going to look very silly in a few days after Stat get's the rust off.

Look, it's a weird season with very little practice and a lot of games. A lot of veterans are struggling. To make this thread is premature and downright wrong. If it's a trade for Howard, I can understand trading Stat. But to trade him just to trade him is just stupid. He came here and saved the franchise. Have a little respect and appreciation!!! Some NYC fans are so sad. No wonder a lot of a players dont want to come here.

then you should feel that KEEPING him is unacceptable. if he can NOT buy in to the TEAM concept and he REFUSES to try on defense then he doesn't deserve his 100 mil contract

Oh I agree with that, I just feel he should be given more than 6 games of the new season before I write him off completely. Our team is pretty much set in terms of core personnel so if he doesn't show up on defense this season then he should be outta here.

It wasn't luck Melo got the conference finals. He just finally had a year with no awful luck. Check his teams before that season and after. Cancer, injuries, horrible outside shooting, horrible coaching, etc. Denver had no place being in the playoffs most of the years Melo was in Denver, he carried them there. There is a reason why Melo won in college (with a young team) and never missed the playoffs in the NBA. Wade, Bosh, Lebron can not make that claim.

A guy comes to the team, only because that team was willing to way overpay for him. Guy even says he would have saved with his old team, if they offered the same deal. Trading the guy could improve the team's chances of winning. Guy still gets the money he wanted.

IMO its more to it than just a bad streak of games, Carmelo & Stat do not compliment each other as our 2 main offensive threats. Both bring ball movement to a halt the same way Franbury did. Trading Stat also gives us the opportunity to fill our team out slightly.

Amare & Fields for Deron & Morrow. Lets give the Russian the crosstown rivalry he desperately thirsts for.
