Not really! Scottie can do alot more in his prime, but mentally HE IS NOT GOING TO LEAD THIS TEAM!!
If he was makeing 12 mil a year....ok but his contract is killing any chance of us to remake this team.
Its not his fault that this management team sigh him to this contract, IS THERE ANY WAY WE CAN TRADE HIM! Any Ideas? Charles was so right.... which is so sad. :cry:

You can always trade him to a contender. Dallas comes to mind.

Dallas was interested in a S&T when Joe was a free agent, but they won't be interested until it's Dwight Howard, and Deron Williams signed long-term contracts. Cuban intends to pursue both of them.

The offer before consisted of Brendan Haywood and Rodrigue Beaubois.

Right now joe johnson contract is not killing the team. He is on the books for 18 mil. He is a top 3 shooting guard in the league. When joe contract becomes a problem the hawks will cut him. What concern be about him is shooting percentage. He is struggling with his shot now. Im not for sure if his elbow is causing him problems or the pressure of his big contract. What he need to do is get to the free throw line more. The good thing about joe is there is more to his game then just shooting. He is a good defender and a good passer. What he needs to focus on is being a better leader and knowing when to attack. In the 4th when the game is on the line we is going to have to count on him to make the right play.The key to the hawks sucess is the improve play of jeff teague and al horford.

I can think of a number of SGs I would prefer over Joe (current version of JJ that is):

1. Wade
2. Kobe
3. Eric Gorden
4.Kevin Martin
5. DeRozan
6. Manu
7. Harden
8. Ray Allen
9. Stuckey
10. Joe Johnson

Still like Joe and support him all the way, but I don't consider him a top 3 SG any longer.

I would probably add M. Ellis, Tyreke, Nick Young, Wes Matthews and possibly M. Brooks ahead oh Joe also.

Only kobe and wade is a better overall shooting guard than joe johnson. Manu is right there with him. Eric and kevin martin are better scores but eric is to small to guard other 2s in the league and kevin martin only score. He does nothing else for his team. What gives joe an edge on them other players is his defense and passing ability. Joe johnson is a better overall player than anyone that list. But if his numbers dont improve by the end of the year he will move way down that list

I would probably only prefer Ellis out of the players you mentioned. I wanted us to pursue Wes Matthews when he was a free agent but mainly because of how much Joe Johnson was going to sign for.

Joe isn't top 3 but c'mon don't you think your underrating Joe right now??? He is our best player and has only had a couple of bad games; I agree with the top 3 and a HEALTHY manu and maybe Harden in a year or 2 but not anyone else as to who's better than JJ.
