Game #6 Clippers(3-2) vs Bucks(2-4)

Post#1 » by Det the Threat » Fri Jan 6, 2012 6:48 pm

The Clippers will finish their 4 game home stand against the Milwaukee Bucks, who haven't been great this season and missed Andrew Bogut for a couple of games.

We could make it three in a row by beating them, before we hit the road and travel to best team of the western conference, the Portland Trailblazers.

The Bucks are solid on defense, but pretty mediocre on offense and could have problems if we can take an early lead.
That's why playing solid defense, grabbing boards and scoring on fast breaks should do the trick for us in this one.

Injury Report

Clippers
Reggie Evans - out

Bucks
Andrew Bogut - probable
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute - probable
Mike Dunleavy Jr. - probable

Key Matchup

Chris Paul

vs

Brandon Jennings

Both are cat quick guards that can score at will, but CP3 is the better passer of the two which certainly is a plus. Though, Jennings had some good outings and is averaging nearly 20 points so far this season.

Our lucky charm for this one

Five Questions:

Will we be able to defend as well as we did against the Blazers?
Will Cookie be usefull at all?
Can we win the battle on the boards?
Do we need another magical three by CP3?
Who will win the key matchup?

Nice thread Det.

This one will be without Bogut, which makes things a little easier for us. It's a game that we should win and need to win, but I don't want us to overlook the Bucks. I don't want to say it is a must win, but a win would put us in a great place to start next week when we'll have the Blazers in Portland, the Heat and then the Lakers.

can we substitute his face with a cookie? lol

next week is gonna be tough, so it would be great if we can get a dominating win like the last one!

I've got some good news. Reggie Evans practiced for the first time today. He's now upgraded to questionable for tomorrow's game. :D

It's always good to see Shaun healthy and contributing, so I'll be looking forward to watching him play.

The last time the Bucks came to Staples, this happened...

Hopefully we don't go in the game into cruise mode. Kill them early and run the bench in the 2nd half.

As for our lucky charm, wow. I need to change pants.

I feel like this is a game we can really win, especially if Bogut won't be able to play. We've been playing much better, it is at home and Bucks haven't played that well. I'm hoping for the best on Saturday night.

Reggie Evans will play tonight. The team is almost @ 100%.

Bucks otoh will be without Udrih, Dunleavy and Mbah a Moute in addition to Bogut.

Good as, looking forward to seeing how Evans does for us.. does this mean barely any more Cook mins? or Thompkins minutes will be limited? I hope its Cook.

But I just hope we don't go into this one too complacent, I don't think CP3 will let the team think that way so I hope we win convincingly, and it won't hurt if Dj throws down a few more dunks like that!

I'll be able to watch this game from start to finish. :)

We better win with all those players out for the Bucks.

Bucks have a lot of players out so we need to stay focused. This is still the NBA and we can be beat if we're not ready to play.
