DeMarcus Cousins wants out of Sac town

Post#1 » by Skyhawk1 » Mon Jan 2, 2012 3:04 am

Forget about D. Howard. The odds of getting and keeping him are like 0.001%. Now, D. Cousins has demanded a trade from the Kings. Sacramento is working to make it happen sooner rather than later. I'm very intrigued by his size and skills on the offensive end. I'm also very concerned about his attitude and team concept (Another J. Smith). Do we pull the trigger by sending a package around A. Horford? I don't know if we are going to have a better chance at a C that has all the tools to be one of the best in NBA. I'd love to send them J. Smith but I don't see the Kings doing it unless it's Horford. Since we all know we are not going too far with the current roster, I'd do the trade even though I'm a big Horford's fan. Would you?

If you want to go that route, Josh needs to go and keep Al (to 4) and DeMarcus to 5, except when playing with Collins or Zaza.

Smith and 2nd to NO

Okafor to SAC

Cousins, Garcia to ATL. If deal does not occurs until March 1st, ATL sends Green to SAC along with Okafor

Marvin, Zaza and a future pick for Salmons and Cousins could potentially be epic.

We never have to up our payroll because Cousins has a opt out clause the year they would start costing more. I would.

I would trade Josh straight up for Cousins but he is not worth Al Horford. You don't trade a professional like Al for a wonderkid like this.

You beat me to it. Yess this is the Guy, you took the words right out of my mouth, Cousins has the tools to become the best Center in the League and one of the best Players. I'd trade them Al horford for Demarcus only because there aren't many quality centers in the league, we as ATL fans know all about that; but Sund has to at least try to deal Josh to Sac town, we'd be legit contenders if we had Cousins at the 5 and Al at the 4. Sund needs to make a pitch to the Kings about a package of Josh and anybody not named Horford or Teague. Maybe Josh, Zaza, Kirk, and a pick or 2. And trade Al as a last resort. I'd much rather have Cousins long term then a year or Dwight.

If you go back to the draft thread last year....I pretty much predicted there was no way Cousins would ever maximize his potential for the team that initially drafted him.

Would make no sense for Sactown to take Joe's contract and give up there 2 best players. What exactly do they get out of that?

What about this then?

Al and a 2nd to SAC. Cousins and Hayes in return...but both going to ORL, along with Zaza, Hinrich and ATL 1st

ATL receives D12 and JJ2. Signs S. Jones or Skinner to vet min. Could even keep Stack...over Sloan

JT- Pargo- Green- Sloan
JJ- JJ2- Green- Mc Grady
Marvin- Mc Grady- Vladma
Smoothe- Vladma- Johnson
D12- Jones- Collins

I am 100% against trading Al for a rental of Dwight. I will be the 1st to say it Dwight is not worth that. If the Clips demanded that Paul picked up a option to send them Gordon,Kaman, and 1st, we should do the same with our all-star caliber big men. We are not winning the title this year with or without Dwight so what is the point of giving up anything worthy for a short-season rental? Screw Dwight unless he picks up that option people

i'm okay with looking into DC, but if the Atlanta FO is smart, they will wait for the Dwight thing to be resolved first, before any moves take place.

DC looks like a better version of Andrew Bynum, but his attitude and laziness is a big concern, so the Hawks need to do alot of research on this guy first.

Cousins has a diva attitude, he is not a team player, i think he cares more about getting 20/10, then getting a win for the team, he loves to take credit when things go well, and he loves to pout and blame his teammates when he looses.

Rasheed (in portland) is a guy that teammates love, but fans and the media hates. Cousins on the other hand, i heard, all his teammates hate him and for me that is a huge mark down.

he is young, and he could always turn it around... maybe. you never know, he could turn it round in Atlanta like Zach Randolph did in Memphis.

Who did you supposedly hear that from? I heard that not only Cousins but Tyreke was disgruntled as well. Usually if teammates really hate a guy this is the perfect chance to leave him out there on a island by himself. I think it is shaping up like they are leaving the coach on a island.

really?! you don't follow NBA news?

http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/27502462

im okay with guys like Tyreke or Josh Smith who get upset and don't like the coaching or the system and get upset, but their is being frustrated and being Isiah Rider or DeMarcus Cousins or Andrew Bynum and the hit he put on Barea.

That return makes no sense for the Kings. Okafor has little to no value due to his contract.

Apparently this is the list of teams interested. Cousins in Utah would be interesting..ha

Teams still Interested in Cousins

According to sources close to the situation, they are: Boston, Detroit, Indiana, New Jersey and Washington. (Portland, Houston and Utah are the others.) The Wizards might rank as the most surprising team on that list, given their longstanding non-interest in (DeMarcus) Cousins and the number of hard-to-harness youngsters already playing in the nation’s capital, but perhaps the Wiz couldn’t resist exploring the possibility of reuniting John Wall with his college teammate… http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page ... oenix-suns

what do they have that they are willing to trade for him? IE Boston and Indiana? Is WAS willing to give up McGee?

Return to Atlanta Hawks
