He talks about how every player he's acquired has gradually drifted to becoming a 3pt shooter first and doesn't play the same game as they did before coming to the magic.

Incredible that he and his family have received threats. I can understand dissatisfaction with the results the team has achieved in the last two years, but that is beyond over-the-top.

That is horrible, seriously.

Also, this just serves as further proof that he and Stan aren't clicking. I don't understand want the Magic FO is doing, is it possible to run a good team when your star player is asking to be traded, and your GM and Coach don't get along?

I actually took something more positive out of it - he talked about Stan working on his negativity, and basically said that all of them (players, coaches, FO) are works in progress trying to get on the same page and pull in the same direction. It's good if everyone is trying to modify their behaviour to for the benefit of the team.

I don't know what to make of the interview where he is talking about everyone he brought in becoming a 3pt shooter other than it's a shot at Stan. He makes it very clear that he means everyone, not just a handful of guys. Which is a very accurate view of things.

Definitely at 6, according to ESPN.com and NBA.com.

It's undoubtedly a reference to our style, but if that was an issue for him, then it's been going on for 4 years and he's been the guy with the power to change the coach.

Maybe ownership likes SVG?
Smart / Micic / D. Wright
Wiggins / Exum / J. Adams
Parker / K. Anderson / Mcdermott
Randle / Vonleh / Stokes
Embiid / Nurkic/ Tavares

I don't know, but it seems like he's been trying to prove the value of his trades since the day the lockout ended. The BVW press conference was really the beginning of him going out there and constantly saying that he's brought in the guys needed to win, but they haven't performed. This is another step further, now he's saying that the system or coach is the reason why the players he brought in didn't play good.

Seems like he's trying to cover his ass in fear of a potential firing in the works.

I could see this ending ugly with a big blowup (Apocalyst 2012)(Dwight gets traded,SVG gets fired,Otis gets fired)Magic is coming to a end.

Otis made bad moves and he knows it. Jrich is past his prime and just signed a 4 year deal. Vc was also past his prime. He has failed in bringing dwight any help. Bbd is the only guy he has brought in that fights with dwight against tough teams yet his skills are limited. Dwight is out

That's an interesting dichotomy because if you look at the players that we have brought in....Rashard lewis....Before we got him he wasn't strictly a 3pt shooter...At that point in his career he was still somewhat versatile especially in the post game which we didn't explore until his 2nd or 3rd year here....Vince Carter...I believe he was averaging 20/5/5 before he came to our team obviously those numbers are going to go down with Dwight here but it was his style of play that changed...In New Jersey Vince was still able to score in 1on1 situations and iso's...He comes here and more or less he's a spot up shooter...

Bad Example but you can look at Gil....A year before he came year not even...it was the same calender year wasn't he averaging like 18 and 7? playing next to wall? I know he had knee problems but it was the same knee he was playing with when he averaged 18 and 7....You don't just forget how to play your game in less than a year....He gets here and all of a sudden he looks like a run of the mill system PG.....Robotic and only there to fill the distributor role and not actually be GILBERT ARENAS...

I think stan is a great coach but a saying to mind whenever this issue comes up...Too much smoke not to be fire....How many players come here and have their styles of play COMPLETELY change from what made them stars and what got them their huge contracts....It happens too much to say it's coincidence...IDK i may be wrong

You forgot JRich, who was balling right before he was brought in (although, he did have Nash).

Ryan should get back to his numbers and facing being benched, Jameer rebounds to at least a 14/6 game tonight.

I like the Magic's chances here. Limit the Kings offense to the perimeter. Hit the boards with authority. Come away with a win.

Less than 1 hour until game time.

3 Keys,

1) D12 dominate Cousins and Hickson
2) Meer and Hedo continue to move the ball around, get into the paint and kick out
3) Ryno and J Rich need to show up

Return to Orlando Magic
