I was about to post this , I've been a fan of Reggie for a long time so I'm glad he maybe gets an opportunity now.

OKC don't need to give Cook or any other piece just to get a backup pointguard when they have an athletic 6'3 and 7'0 wingspan promising PG hungry for minutes

There is a lot of pressure on OKC to get to the championships this year, before they have to start making decisions on who they can afford to keep in the future.

With a wildcard like Westbrook as their PG, Maynor's stability was a great asset for this team. They need veteran stability at the position right now a whole lot more than a kid trying to learn the hardest position in the NBA on the fly, in a compacted season with little pre-season.

Even if he has long arms.

heat have WAY more pressure and I don't see them trying to trade for a veteran point guard. Instead of that they have a rookie playing good minutes as a backup PG.

I get your point, just saying that right now I don't think OKC would give any important piece specially when they have a promising pg who can easily be a decent backup PG.

If they give Jackson an opportunity and he just sucks bad, then we can talk about a trade

In the playoffs, the back-up will not have much to do with the games. Westbrook is gonna play 40 mins.

3) Adelman likes playing 2 PGs at once.

Does he really? Or is he just trying to compensate for the fact that Wes has been terrible, and Ellington is mediocre at best?

Adelman well knows the dilemma but has a history of playing point guards together selectively during his 21 seasons as an NBA head coach.

He played Terry Porter and Danny Ainge in Portland, Mike Bibby and Bobby Jackson in Sacramento, Kyle Lowry and Aaron Brooks in Houston.
