We need better CB's and S's. I guess we just need better depth in the secondary as a whole, but I was not impressed with either Houston or Wright this season. Both started the season pretty good, but fizzled down the stretch.

Example of a better defence = Denver still in the playoffs

Fair point, but an easy counter is to point out that both NE and GB had terrible defenses, and they have first round bye's....

And aside from that, would you have rather played NO or Pitt?

Ya, NO was a really bad draw. I would've rather have played anyone in the playoffs except for NE or GB, rather than have played the Saints. Oh well, gotta beat em all eventually if you want to be the champs.

Way too many bad calls again this week and every week by the ref's i still believe they are getting paid off to make calls against the lions.

I said we should fire the DC on the day we signed him. He runs a Cover 2 which makes no sense for the personnel we had/have, and isn't a good scheme to use to begin with, unless you really teach it very well and have the personnel. But anyhow, Gunther did a bad job any way you slice it. A very bad job actually.

I do not hold them responsible for failing to impress as they were being taught and programmed by a seriously flawed defensive mind. Too hard to hold them accountable considering so much evidence was provided that our players are trained to behave illogically. The stuff that looked like they were operating by instincts gave me good indications that they had some innate positive instincts and overall athletic ability/skill. The only complaints I have I can all plausibly connect to be the result of terrible coaching.
