Game #7: Clippers(4-2) @ Blazers(6-2)

Post#1 » by Det the Threat » Mon Jan 9, 2012 4:07 pm

After winning three in a row at home the Clippers will head up north to start a very tough week in Portland.

Last time around, the Clippers were able to hand Nate McMillan's Blazers their first loss of the season, when they beat them at home.
This time around, the Clippers would have to hand them their first home loss of the season, if they want to make it four wins in a row.

Like last time, rebounding, limiting turnovers and transition defense are the keys to get a win at a very tough environment with great and loud fans at the Rose Garden.

Key Matchup

DeAndre Jordan

vs

Marcus Camby

Camby is still doing his thing and able to dominate on the defensive end, if needed. Jordan should look at him as his role model, as that's exactly what we need next to Blake at the center spot.

Our lucky charm for for this one

Five Questions:

Who will win the key matchup?
Will we be able to grind it out in a very tough environment?
Who will grab more rebounds? Blake or LaMarcus?
Who will get more points off the bench? Crawford or Mo?
Who's the tougher dude? Kurt Thomas or Reggie Evans?

Discuss and Go Clips Go!!!

Who will win the key matchup? Marcus Camby

Will we be able to grind it out in a very tough environment? I see this one going either way, a very tight game.

Who will grab more rebounds? Blake or LaMarcus? Blake

Who will get more points off the bench? Crawford or Mo? Crawford, Vinny doesn't give Mo enough playing time, Foye shouldn't even get any playing time.

Who's the tougher dude? Kurt Thomas or Reggie Evans? Reggie Evans by far, and we need a nickname for him!

This one is going to be tough, I want us to take better care of the ball, and commit to defense. Lets go!

Also if we win this one, we vault to the #2 spot. :)

The more I think about it, the more I want to win this game! Gah, this is going to be a statement game, to beat a hot Portland team in Portland.

Both teams are evenly matched at almost every position and we all know Portland wants revenge.

you would think a $10mill man has all the motivation he needs. i saw him and gomes @ yardhouse after the bucks game on saturday. i told him "yo dj, i'm a big fan and you're the first big man i picked up for my fantasy team, so can you help me out a little...."

hopefully he remembers -.-

Should be a tough game, and no doubt Wallace is not going to have another scoreless night. Still like our chances, since I foresee our strong guards (a position that we're clearly superior to them in) constantly breaking down Portland's defense and getting open shots/easy baskets.

Portland is always a tough environment to play in. We have still yet to play or best basketball, closest was against the Rockets last week. We were all over Portland last time we played and we let them back in. My hope is we do beat them again, we will need some road wins. Rebounding will definitely be key.

Great thread! But two things:

First, you need to replace Cook with Mo, don't wanna see Brian's face in any rotations anymore.

Second, Bledsoe should be under injury report.

I'm glad the forums are working before the game starts. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to post on here :(
