@OP: Stevenson isn't playing either.

Starting lineup is DWill/Morrow/Brooks/Hump/Petro.

Ugh...

Brooks has been going wild on us in our meetings, maybe he learns how many timeouts there are now.

Teague with the Pick and jumper. Deron puts head down in shame

Dont tell anybody but the team will likely be plauing switching defense ie Josh Smith onto 3s. So positions dont matter.

I would go with a big line up, so we can outrebound them.
Also Horford on Humphries and Smith on Okur shoud be enough to eliminate off rebounds and open court plays from their center.

But if they play Stevenson at the three position, playing Radmanovic on him could be a risk. A risk with no counterpart on the other end, as the Radman never posts up.

What the h.ell, we should play our game, forget about them (but just try that Horford/Humphries-Smith/Okur) and give Ivan Johnson some minutes.

Good game again to play inside a little more.

Ivan johnson had one good game. He isnt more than a 10 minute a game hustle player, that got overrated because reggie miller was obnoxious on that thursday night game

The hawk are better when Marvin isnt in the game IMO, because he doesnt really bring any one dimension to the team i.e. three point shooting, defense, hustle, etc. He is passable at a bunch of different things and this actually hurts you more than a one dimensional 3 point shooter or defense only guy IMO because those guys cause matchup problems

josh smith is clearly the best player on the team. He is the only guy who has shown the ability to take over a game on any type of semi-regular basis. He is good on D, help D, and can create his own shot.

If the hawks are going to get to the next level, its going to have to be josh getting them there with added consistency

Hey, Morrow's foot was on the line. Did anyone else see that?

You realize that's the major question about Mr. Smith, don'cha? If he could get rid of that imposter who steals his jersey sometimes and sleepwalks through entire games or pouts for games on end, he'd be just what you claim.

create his own shot?

If you use him right and have other bigs on your team that can help cover his perimeter weaknesses he can get you lots of easy shots.

Drew has recognized this and put out great lineups with Vlad as the Stretch Forward to Smith's Power Forward. With Horford on his left side at the 3 point line and a slower man on him Smith was forced outside. Clock winding down he cant post up so he isos. Did you see him dance around with the ball and then right when you think he's gonna play hero he makes the heady pass to Vlad who had an inch of space. He passed up a 3 near the end of regulation and off of a stagnant isolation.

Would Smith give that up to Marvin? Doubt it. Joe? Teague?

Biggest problem has always been Marvin not being a stretch forward who can trail, cant box out or rebound at a PF level. I have a Scout;s quote about his Toughness dating back to 2010. smh Jack of all trades master of none

Josh Smith the best player? I don't know about that, he's really good but it can be uncomfortable watching him take jumper after jumper...

Win, nothing too encouraging or discouraging about it though.

Looking at Brooks statline you'd swear another Brook was playing. That kid just has it in for us but Jeffrey always seems to answer the bell too against him.

You should never put Josh and consistency together in the same sentence. He had a nice game tonight against the Nets no doubt. So did Teague. We have a hard time playing any 3pt shooting team, so I'm glad about this win.

Nice game for Jeff Teague and many of our players. A win is a win.

The more I watch MarShon Brooks play the more he's growing on me. I have never been a big fan of players but I like this young man.

He bumped and bruised his knee two nights in a row over the weekend and his entire leg tends to stiffen up after a few minutes of action. His knee has to be monitored closely and if he's not needed for a game then he serves his self and his team better by getting all the rest he can so he's fully effective down the road.

well it is nice to get the win, i just don't like how the starters had to play +40 minutes. not really healthy with this fast pace season.

Josh this season is slowly turning into the Hawks best player and most important player. Joe is still okay, but Josh is slowly turning into this team's #1 option and i think it is for the better, because Josh by far is the most talented guy on the team

Return to Atlanta Hawks
