I really don't think there's anything to this. This isn't the first time we've had this kind of joking between the two of them. Off the top of my head, Love tweeted the photo of Beasley wearing headphones holding his iPhone to his head with, "Who says Michael Beasley is one dimensional?" and joked that he told everyone they should never have let Michael get the mic when he started rambling at the open scrimmage. Mike's made plenty of comments that come across like self-deprecating jokes about it being a good thing that he has to shoot less or sit because of injuries. I think the only reason this seemed newsworthy to Zgoda is that Beasley wasn't there, so it could be taken as a behind his back type of thing.

Hm... even if Love was joking 100%, the question kinda still stands? Granted, Wizards are not a good measure of things as already mentioned, but if the trend continues against better teams, not sure many folks will be still laughing :P

I agree he was, and it was -- but I would still rather that it was kept inside the team. I never like a player calling out another player (joking or not, that's what Love did) in the media.

It was a joke. Big time overreaction here. People jump from Love making this comment to saying that Beasley is a loud, attention seeker and that there is tension between the two. Really? From everything I've seen, the two get along really well. Did it maybe sting for a guy sitting at home injured, having to watch the game? Likely. But I really don't think it goes any further than that. Anyone who has been part of a team knows that this kind of thing happens. No big deal.

Good. Hopefully it got under his skin and he goes out to prove it isn't true. Whether it's at school, work, sports, relationships, everyone has been on the recieving end of this kind of thing. You either go home and cry about it, or you go out and prove it isn't true.

You don't become a leader by coddling everyone. You become a leader by making everyone around you better. Sometimes people get better when they get constant encouragement. Sometimes they get better when they are shown the truth. A good leader knows how and when to use which ever one is needed.

I disagree with this assessment. I used to be a manager and I don't recall ever criticizing anyone in front of coworkers or customers because it wasn't necessary. I'd raise points during employee reviews and occasionally had to talk to a few coworkers in private about how to to do their job more effectively, but I never needed to give everyone status updates on we talked about.

As for Love's comment, I don't see why Adelman or Love can't bring up the issue in private instead of singling out just one person on the team in public. It's not even like Love is saying anything that Beasley has been criticized in the past for.

Two things:
1. KLove should not have said anything with a name attached, but on the flip-side, I could care less what Beasley thinks.

2. Thruth being a combination of things ... more Rube, less Beas, playing the Wizzards.
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

I thought Love and Beasley were good friends? at least that's how it was billed last year, I guess Love's getting tired of him though. Honestly, put Rubio in the starting line up and this all goes away (he controls the flow). Give Beasley the ball when you want him to shoot, or else pass to someone else.

It was a joke, they have been good friends since they were 13. Kevin knows the team needs Beasley. In addition, saying that Love is better than Beasley is a hard argument to make.

I've been a manager my entire working life. It's a completely different world than being on an all-male sports team. At least that's how its been in my world of working where the customers are always right in front of you all day long. And from your take, being the manager would be like if Adelman had said it instead of Love. As far as managing people as a leader, I've always run on the praise in public, critique in private game. But there are always people that needed different types of leadership. Some people need fear to motivate them, some people need love, some people need to be left alone. And yes, some people need to be the butt of their co-workers jokes.

Seems we're both pretty set on our definitions of management.

Remember when Beasley was still on KLove's level? Ahhh good times......now this clown is on Jonny Flynn caliber level.

I applaud KLove for doing this, joking or not. Let that clown know how he **** sucks and how he only makes the team worse.
