I really don't like Ward. It seems like everything he say is too um manufactured. He is a skilled fighter and became the favorite over the tournament but I want Froch to win for nothing else that no one else has faced as many top fighters as him and gotten less recognition for it.

Ref was just disgraceful....worst ref I've ever seen
I still have no seen the fight but the ref did a **** job for all intents. Khan didn't do himself any favors by looking so poorly and he can forget about fighting Mayweather now.
What are you talking about? He did really well. Peterson is simply a good, tough fighter. Khan also got clipped without any serious buzz and scrapped really hard. If he got hit, he was compelled to get one back - he'd wade back in there and throw. The guy is going to be a joy to watch for years.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

I thought this fight would leave all the haters in the dust. I was sure. I guess not.
Oh wait, you hadn't seen the fight???

I saw the fight now... the fight reflected the inherent flaws that Khan has. He can't impose his will on other fighter and can't fight on the backfoot. I really don't think think too highly of Peterson but he fought a great fight. I mean the ref did Khan no favors and it did appear that he favored Peterson with the times that he would lead with his head to get into close. There was no hard warnings whatsoever and being inconsistent is unacceptable in a world title bout. It was a pretty good fight despite the ref job. I guess what pisses me off is that it makes the Bradley vs Peterson the defacto kingpin at 140 when I think it is just reflective of styles make fights. I think Miadana would KO Bradley given that he is kinda chinny as well.
I liked the HBO montage at the end of the fight for all the best fights. Hahaha... no Bradley/Alexander highlights.

I feel like every other time I see Mayweather's name (besides linked to Pacman) he's involved in some domestic violence issue. What's his deal exactly? Just like slappin' chicks around or what?

Not sure about a week but his time will likely get reduced.

Re: Boxing Thread 3.0
From last week...
CANFIELD, Ohio (AP)—Former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count charging him with driving an all-terrain vehicle while drunk.
The Vindicator newspaper in Youngstown reports Pavlik’s attorney, Damian Billak, entered the plea on his behalf in a Mahoning County court. Billak says they look forward to addressing the issues in court.
Deputies say the 29-year-old Pavlik was arrested Wednesday night at his home outside Youngstown after a neighbor reported he crashed the ATV into a telephone pole and lamppost.
Pavlik in January finished two months of alcoholism treatment at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Earlier this month, trainer Jack Loew announced they had split ways.
Billak says Kelly plans to relocate to California.
A pre-trial hearing is set for Jan. 13.

There it is. Floyd just issued a challenge to Pacquiao. It's really up to Manny now to man up and step onto the plate. His statements that it's up to Arum to choose his opponents should be flushed down the toilet right now, because if it were up to Arum, Manny would never fight Floyd.

I have lost hope, if we lived in a world where good things happen to boxing fans... then this fight would have happened 3 years ago. Fact is that both fighters are not in their respective primes.

Agreed. I've gotten sick of both of them. I'll believe it when it actually happens and even if it does, the last three years have taken their toll.

Re: Boxing Thread 3.0
Not sure what the one judge who gave it to WV2 was thinking. Vazquez wasn't active enough nor landed that many power shots, though he seemed be to landing the jab at a pretty good rate. Donaire was landing the harder shots and scored a KD in the 8th. It'll be interesting to see what's next for him. Talk of a unification bout with the Japanese WBC champ Nishioka is being rumored. A step up from Vazquez but I'd still favor Donaire.
Chavez Jr.-Rubio was a fairly good fight, especially the last 3 or so rounds provided for some good viewing. Very little issue with the cards, Chavez Jr. did very good body work. After the fight, he called out Antonio Margarito and Sergio Martinez. Obviously, I don't see Top Rank going for the Martinez fight just yet...hell, maybe ever. Margarito is the type of fight I could see TR and Chavez's team going after. A tough Mexican who has been through some wars and comes to fight. It will be an action fight but you have to think Chavez is going to wear down the smaller man with body shots and possibly stop him late or score a UD.

^^^ I think a fight with Margarito is interesting. It will probably be more exciting than it is genuinely competitive though. JCC Jr is just too big.
