Rasheed Wallace

Post#1 » by Butterss » Fri Jan 13, 2012 4:32 pm

Rasheed says he wants to make a comeback to the NBA i say we should sign him up and cut Gladness. Wallace can play the backup C for us.

just when this team is trying to get younger....

He is way too old and he's going to be rusty as hell. :|

it's like going backwards getting an old Center... (assuming since Haslem is gonna be the backup PF as long as he's here).

And what have you seen from Wallace over the past year to make you think that?

Well he's alot better than any Center we have on the roster right now.

I am mixed on this. Ya he hasn't played in a while but, Miami having a big who can hit some shots might not be so bad. Granted no one knows what kinda of physical shape he's in, but if he is healthy, why not try him out and drop Gladness? They're taking a risk right now on Curry that could be a total flop. If Sheed could just play a few minutes, grad a few boards, and hit a couple of 3's, I think he could work. I think he brings more to the table than Juwan at this point. Haslem, and Bosh have been playing a decent amount of minutes and getting them a decent back up wouldn't be so bad. Solely depends on his physical health.

i think rasheed could be a good look for us...he adds toughness and he's actually a very smart player..he already has a ring and knows what it takes...all we need are productive spurts from him..and not to mention he can stretch the defense which opens the lane for lebron and dwade...definite zone buster

I really like Rasheed as a player and his off court personality but, a team like ours runs a lot not sure if he can keep up at this age and we have Bosh and a starting PF quality player in Haslem off the bench. As for center I think that we should stick with Eddy getting back before we take on another project/experiment.

He may know what it takes to win, but if his body is too old & non-respondent, what's the point? Besides, I'm pretty sure that Celtics group formed a brotherhood where he wouldn't come to us to play vs them

He would be a bad fit for us. He's old. He doesn't rebound. And he loves to talk to the media.

Do I want him? Yes, because he's one of my most favorite players ever

Should we get him? Probably not

No thanks. He wanted back last season, but not even the Celtics took him. They took a worthless Snaq, but not Sheed. Nuff said. PEACE.

It's worth kicking the tires and see what he can contribute. For crying outload we started the corpses of Bibby, Big Z, and Dampier last season and we still have Juwan's on the roster.

He can try out for the Golden Oldies if he wants.

A team starting the corpse of Jermaine O'Neal does not want anything to do with him .. yes, the very team that he played for last. Enough said.

Of course the Heat should get him *IF* he's healthy and in similar shape to what he was with the Celtics. Yes, he's old and not what he once was, but he was fantastic at C for the Celtics in their 2010 Finals run. He's a tremendous post defender, good in the PnR defensively, no worse than Joel or Pittman on the boards, and he'll stretch the defense and can also finish easy plays at the rim. He also offers a very nice post game when he decides to use it.

Basically, he offers the size and talent Joel lacks, and the experience and polished game that Pittman lacks. There is no reason to not give him a shot if he comes back for the minimum. A MUCH better and more proven fit than Curry is.
