i am trying to remain positive with both kemba and biz, reminding myself that we had no summer games, short preseason and they are rookies. its much easier to be patient with biz though, since he really is younger.

that being said, i'd be lying if i said i wasnt disappointed with what we have seen so far from kemba. i honestly thought he would be better from day one. based on the first two weeks its easy to see where rick got that vinny johnson comparison, which isnt bad, but its not a franchise type player.

we'll see.

i do like the defense though.

He was meant to be the most NBA ready player in the draft. Hard not to be disappointed - but it's still early days.

As someone who never watches college hoops, I am not disappoint. Would like to see more Biyombo, but I know he's (hypothetically) young and can come a long way. Trusting Silas on both of these dudes based on what long time Charlotte vets have written.

Do you disagree? I grew up an hour away from Philly and watched the original KW; AI. Now, to Kemba's credit, he's much more likeable than Iverson, but their games are quite similar; pound the ball into the floor for twenty seconds, looking off several teammates and not moving the ball at all and then chucking up an off balance twenty footer or driving crazily to the hoop hoping for the "and 1". Again, KW is very likeable, but his game will very quickly wear thin and drive team mates, coaches and fans alike crazy. He's a good spark off the bench, not a top notch starting pg in this league.

I just don't get bogged down with labels. Your line of thinking is akin to "Dirk Nowitzki is not a PF, he doesn't get in the post and bang" or "Magic Johnson is not a PG, he's too big."

Kemba will be a fine pg as long as he is paired up with a good defensive minded SG. Besides, his role right now is bench spark, not pass-first floor general, so let's not get too critical of his PG skills until he's been given the reigns from DJ.

Kemba needs to watch tapes of Isaiah Thomas, and emulate him perfectly

Im not disappointed at all with Walker right now. The only rookies really 'tearing' it up right now are Rubio, and Irving. Rubio has played pro ball since he was in his mothers womb, and Irving is probably just that special. Both Fredette, and Walkers shot has been horrid this year, but I think they will be fine in the long run.

I am not disappointed either. I actually expect rookies to have a learing period. I am actually a little impressed with Kemba. He has nerves of steel, and that will serve him well in the nba.

Perfect. We'll know who to hire as our GM in 20 years.

David Thorpe currently has Kemba ranked as the 12th best rookie. Notes that Kemba is one of the fastest ball pushers in the league, but his eFG% is only 38% when he shoots in the first 10 seconds of the shot clock, but the majority of his shots come in this span. Says he'll improve with experience but right now he's moving too fast, drives too deep in the paint (creating a worse angled shot) and is taking poor perimeter shots.

we had hopes of having kemba in the ROY conversation and a sure thing to make 1st team all-rookie, but at this point, i'd be happy just to have him make the rookie-sophomore game or 2nd team rookie.

He will be there but they aren't having a rookie/sophomore game this year. They are having two of the analysts pick the players on a team.

I'm not too sure, they will probably do it like the horse game, try it out and see if it sticks.

And peoeple were rallying for Kemba to start at PG. He was in a chuckfest last night against the Hawks, man i couldn't believe what i was watching for a minute.

All things considered, the fact he plays with our 2nd unit doesn't help his case as a developing PG. He'll be alright, just don't know whether or not he'll develop into a PG or a 6th man SG aka Jason Terry, Jamal Crawford.
