I don't think the amnesty clause lasts that long. I think players have to be dropped before the offseason.

Prior any season as long as it is not new or traded contract. And one amnesty per team (total). This time next year it can be Tyrus is the last man eligible to by amnestied by Charlotte Bobcats (as others eligible would be gone, gone by amnesty or safe for good). Till Tyrus enters last year on his contract he is fair game to be amnestied. And it is smart thing to keep that option open and save it for use on him only (Diop is expiring next year).

I understand why Tyrus has to play, I would like to see White more, but it is smart thing to do, unless it roughs DJW's feathers causing him not refusing to re-sign with us. But if he does he would be cheaper than as a starter
