Bosh: Wade, not LeBron, should take last shot

Post#1 » by TMIMITW » Fri Jan 13, 2012 10:32 pm

Miami Heat center Chris Bosh didn’t hesitate when asked who he would want to have the ball for a last-second shot with the game on the line.

“Dwyane (Wade),” Bosh told GQ Magazine.

When asked to elaborate why he chose Wade over LeBron James, Bosh noted what many have said before.

“Because of his success in the past, given what he’s done. He’s a champ. He’s an MVP, and he’s hit a bunch of last-second shots,” Bosh said. “That’s the time you have to put pride aside a little bit, and do what’s best for the team. He’s quickest, and he’s gonna get a shot off. He relishes those moments.”

It's true, but not all the time. Bron shoots better than Wade overall. He showed he could get a high-percentage shot in crunchtime, he just missed his FTs this one game. If Bron does what he did against the Clippers to close every game, I don't mind him taking over the closer duties. They should just stay alternating. I think it works better than relying on Wade to do it all the time. He didn't win every game he closed before Lebron, no reason to think he will now. Go with the hottest hand. PEACE.

What is he thinking? Lol these kind of things is what Skip Bayless and other so called "experts" love to spinn off and talk/hype.

Is it that hard to say, i want the last shot to be taken by the guy who has the best look. Or depending on the matchups that guy should take the last shot.

I wonder how Lebron will take this?

it should never be designated in one of their hands, that's a huge waste of talent.

Don't mind him thinking that, but would have been better if he just said whoever is feeling it or whoever coach makes the play for.

Great timing,Bosh. New here so don't want to step any faves, but really bosh? Pressure already mounting and planting more doubt. IMO as long the whole team think this is right appoarch for wade to take the so called last shot, no ship for the heat. Play bb as a team, make ur ft's, keep leads with tight d, and it wont come down to last shot. If the game come down to last shot, how about drawn up play.

Maybe I'm asking for to much, maybe since I'm female, u know how we love to keep order and plan ahead

It is perfectly reasonable to voice such an opinion in house or to the coaching staff, but how does it benefit the team to take it public?

This is not good.

This. Bosh can discuss it internally but needs to stop acting like a little bitch and airing it out to the media.

Yeah I can't imagine this playing well in the locker room. Band of Brothers + Chris Bosh, ha.

I don't get what is so hard about just going with whoever has the biggest mis-match, and then running an actual play to get them open.

The plays we ran to get Lebron into the paint in the clipper game was much better than the isos we ran for Wade in the Warriors game.

There shouldn't be a pecking order, because it is a waste of those two guys talents, when they are basically equal, and both guys have proven to be clutch at diffrent points. Spo knows this. Bosh apparently doesn't.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure Wade was the guy we went to in the clutch in the finals--didn't really do us any favors. I just think you can't take a player of Lebron's talents out of the equation for every fourth quarter you play against important teams.

Dude was clutch as hell against the Bulls and Celtics, and was hitting big shot after big shot, while stopping Rose on the other end. It was awesome. Don't get why we wouldn't want more of that.

I doubt it. Too many of these guys are close. Lebron and Wade aren't going to fight. I don't think that Bosh has a big voice in our locker room to be honest. He says a lot of stuff to the media that always seems to sound like something nobody else on the team has heard from him in private.

Remember early this season when Bosh said his role was to shoot 3 pointers and stay on the perimeter in the new offense, and then Spo was like "uh, no, that's not what I told him"

When you have leaders on this team like Wade, Lebron, Haslem, Battier--I doubt what Bosh says is taken into much consideration. It is probably just annoying to have him come out and do something like this to heap more pressure on the team when we don't need it.

Maybe we should explore dealing Bosh for Howard afterall. Though Howard is even mouthier.

While Bosh is entitled to his own opinion, there was nothing intelligent about him saying this publicly. We all saw what Lebron taking over in the 4th did for us in the Boston and Chicago series. We also saw what a passive Lebron got us in the finals.

If Spo can somehow figure out a way for both James and Wade to be in attack mode in the closing minutes that would be great, or at least have it vary game to game. But to suggest Lebron shouldn't take final shots at all is a joke and will only allow us to rack up more L's.

Oh come on Bosh, it's not like Wade did it alone last year against Boston and Chicago hitting all those shots....

While LeBron in the regular season had yet to prove why he should get the last shot, I agree it should be Wade BUT it also depends on the match ups to be honest.

Wade has came through hugely, but he tends to disappear sometimes. The last two OT's he was combined 3-18 or something like that (in the ending minutes).

LeBron also has a height advantage over some.

Who knows what our record would be right now if LBJ took the last shot against Minny and the Bobcats.

Oh boy, its just like last year, a couple weeks into the season and all the helpful fans of other teams start posting on our board.

Its a shame they don't stop by when we're doing well, we'd love to have ya all the time! I guess you could call them reverse bandwagoners.

You guys need to stop overeacting. Dam it's annoying. This was originally a GQ article. The interview was done before the season started. It's just someone waited till we lost to even post the ****.
I'm no dick rider aye!! But WADEis the toughest dude to guard in the league

Yup. Besides, no one cares on the team anyway. It will come down to the situation at hand. Some games, Bosh will be the closer. PEACE.

sigh, Bosh is an idiot. never say anything so stupid to the media. LeBron wont be too happy with you mrs. Bosh.

when he had a change to clarify and redeem himself he just said "I speak the truth".

mind boggling.

Bosh is a very smart guy but he has very low emotional intelligence, i.e. he doesn't know how to sense potentially damaging situations. This will not affect the relationship between Bron and Wade because they really are like brothers. However, I can't imagine that Bron is loving Bosh right now, regardless of what he says. This is just unnecessary.
