He has so much potential to be one of the better PGs in the league with the way he can pass and run a team. I could see a Rubio-like effect for him in Toronto... it would be huge. If we can get a top 7 pick to grab BPA, then get another to get Kabongo... I have ultimate faith in BC to bring us back to prosperity.

Dream scenario: drat Davis and Kabongo. Trade Bargnani for a legit star potential SF.

Kabongo looks to be dropping out of the lottery to a late first rounder, but I would love to draft him as well.

Not even close. MKG is a much better rebounder and defender than Brewer. Even offensively MKG is much more intense than Brewer. That's just a bad BAD comparison.

Perry is SO good, man. It's so laughable how smooth he is at every facet of the game.

I have a feeling you didn't watch much of Brewer when he was in college. He was regarded as an exceptional defender. I will give you that MKG has a better motor, but they are actually quite similar.

I know eh? Like, he could do anything against the non-defensive big of the other team. Like...omg! Can you believe him playing against Davis' defensive caliber level defender, like, OMG.

Um dude, I have watched the gator played that year, I saw him play, he was very very good defending the perimeter but he didn't have any motor at MKG's level on the offensive end and defensively he was exceptional with his footwork but I still say MKG's defense is better because of his intensity.

I remember Brewer not only being a beast on D but also having a great motor but that was a while ago so its hard to compare.

Anyways, at what point does MKG shoot a good enough pct that teams would no longer want to change his shot?

frederick - sorry about unc today

I think he's going to have to change his shot if he ever wants to have a quick enough release to shoot off the dribble effectively.

By the way, I know you're an Arizona fan. Does Gilchrist not remind you of Iguodala in college?

Anyone else think Millers speed is much improved compared to beginning of season?

I can understand the comparison but not really. The system employed by the two teams is very different so its hard to evaluate how each player would have done in the others shoes. Iggy was a great passer and incredible athlete. He also fit into the Arizona offense much better i'd say.(As in, he ran great screens, made passes, rebounded etc without having the ball in his hands a lot allowing others to score - he didnt know how to shoot at this point). He also made everything he did look effortless except after he got a D rebound, he would run the quickest fast break possible.

Freshman Corey Brewer averaged 7.5 pts, 3.4 rebs, 0.4 blck and shot 58% ft.
Freshman MKG averages 13.2 pts, 7.5 rebs, 1.2 blcks, 75% ft.

MKG is not the best prospect in this draft. He's not even close.

Yes is is. I trust what I say over you. My track record is PROVEN.

Open your eyes. The dude is unbelievable.

As long as you brought it up, let's discuss your track record, shall we.

Nov 20/11

You created a thread on the draft forum entitled Perry Jones vs. Anthony Davis in which you stated that Perry Jones is a once in a decade talent and everyone else that thought Davis was a better talent was being deluded by the media.

Jan 1/12

You created another thread in the draft forum where you list your big board as:

1. Gilchrist
2. Drummond
3. Davis
4. Barnes
5. Perry jones

From this we must surmise at least one of the following:

a) in fact, you believe there are at least 5 once in a decade prospects in this draft (possibly redefining that term)
b) you were wrong about Perry Jones being a a once in a decade player
c) you're making this up as you go along
d) you are an attention seeker that likes to state an opinion different from others, even if later you contradict your own opinion (which you state as fact)

How about transition to the pros? I've made a comparison to Iguodala as a best case scenario for Gilchrist, and I think that might be a bit generous. I'm not getting this projection of MKG as a superstar.

Brewer played with 2 NBA big men, and MKG is playing with 4 or 5 NBA talents (not sure how good they will be yet).

I have watched alot of Royce White from Iowa State the past few games against Missouri and Kansas. intriguing skillset at the 4 (Including ability to handle the ball and pass, and + ahtleticism) - could yranslate into a 3 at the next level. I would look at him if we had a non lotto furst round puck.

Playing against Kansas right now
