Mullens is the only consistent offensive option we've had all year. You don't sit him out because his rotations are slow. We'd go from scoring 75 a game to 50. No thank you. Sit Diaw all you want, he's not offering much on either side of the floor right now. But you don't sit one of the few guys who is capable of putting some points up.

Bismack sucks on offense, but he should get minutes.
Mullens sucks on defense, but he should get minutes.

You do to send him a message. If he was Dirk Nowitzki that would be a different story, but he's a young player who will continue to make these mistakes if he's not coached, or held accountable for his defensive lapses. If he's constantly getting burned on the defensive end, you sit him rotate in a defensive player to send him a message. Sooner or later he'll learn better defensive habits. Thibs did this with Boozer and now Boozer's actually playing defense like he cares.

Mullens is still young, fats point was Silas needs to eliminate these bad habits now so they don't become even worse habits in the future.

To Mullens' credit, I have seen a concerted effort on his behalf to the defensive end of the floor lately even though it hasn't had memorable and/or favorable results. I don't think benching him at this point would be the answer. Silas should give Biyombo more minutes to develop some confidence and understanding of the NBA game. Who cares if he foul out? I know I don't. He's barely in the game already. The players whom I would like to see a decrease in playing time are Boris Diaw & D.J. White. I like White, but he's a scorer (limited at that) and shouldn't see anything more than sporadic minutes off the bench.

Play these two together and hope for the best?

You learn by doing, not by sitting on the bench. Besides, how do we know Silas isn't grilling him every time he makes a mistake on defense? We don't. You keep him out there and let him learn how to do it. If he has to take a few lumps then so be it. It's part of the process. Also, he's nothing like Boozer. You can actually see a concerted effort by Mullens to get dirty and work down low--Hibbert anyone? Reps are Mullens' problem, not effort.

Same goes for Bismack. You can only teach so much in a slow pre-game shoot around. You can drill him on post moves all day long, you can show him all the film in the world, but he's not going to learn how to do it without actually going out there and doing it.

Been saying this and i'm sure the amount of time they have been on together we've been better on both ends. I think Silas is just touchy feely right now with the rotations as he hasn't had any real time in practice to get a feel for our lineups.

I guess the only issue with playing them together is the offensive flow. Bismack is apparently completely lost in offensive sets and Mullens prefers to shoot it
