Could have done it without the dry spell in the fourth, but all's well that ends well.

this is the only game that I have seen in which the Bobcats have 3 20 point scorers! Boy has Kemba looked good as well as henderson (thank god he has had a good game I was a tad concerned), also our boy Biyombo scored some points (finally)!!! Also Monta Ellis has looked terrible this game... is anyone noticing that whoever Henderson covers struggles like crazy (Kevin Martin looked terrible in the loss to the rockets). Good to see us beat a equally bad Warriors team, but I dont want to make a habit of winning this season.

I've been somewhat lucky so far, our record is 3-4 when I'm watching the game live.

No offense, but I don't know what game you were watching because Kemba defended Monta for the majority of the game. Please give due credit where it's due.

**** thats what I get for only watching the 4th quarter, I sort of assumed that Henderson had been covering Monta for the first 3 quarters (my bad)

I'm sorry I've missed the last few games, glad we come out on top in this one.

Thanks for the game threads, I wouldn't survive without them.

Silas went small, benched Diaw for being fat and lazy. Had Kemba playing SG, Hendo playing SF. Worked like a riot, some of the best offense i've seen all year from us. We stunk it up on the defensive end though. Just glad we got the W.

just got back from the game... warming my feet with my new bobcats blanket. good times. i haven't read the thread yet, but figured i'd post some thoughts before i did so...

biyombo has the longest pregame stretch routine of any player i have ever seen. he spent at least 15 minutes of the 20 or so pregame shootaround stretching and doing exercises. he started off doing crunches, all kinds, then pushups, then some dynamic stretches, then stretches with the trainer. dude is flexible. and i've never seen another player do pushups at halfcourt during shootaround. he also took no shots at halftime, but instead was talking with asst coach werdann.

tyrus has to put on some muscle. i know we keep talking about it, but he has no strength. david lee threw him around like a ragdoll down in the post and its not like lee is a real physical force down there. he is basically a lost cause right now. too skinny and weak to defend the post and can't defend most 3s. offensively he is a 5th option. i dont know what he did this offseason but it didnt work.

silas finally grew a pair and benched diaw. i wonder if this is long term or shortterm. i love the diaw biyombo pairing. they work well together. those two also worked together in pregame (the 5 minutes biz wasnt stretching).

if you just looked at the boxscore you would have no idea how effective udoh was for the warriors. he really changed the game in the 2nd half. he completely took mullens out of the game by getting up in his grill and not letting have any space. i was very impressed with him.

speaking of mullens... he cant let defenders take him out of his team that easily. he did nothing in that 2nd half. he really struggles when he has the ball and the defender crowds him. his passing from that high post is scary bad. i think teams are going to start scouting him and quickly figuring out how to defend him up top. he'll have to expand his game down on the block to continue this success. he also had another bad night defensively. but the progress is there. they had a long montage video clip of him during the game called "7 feet of smooth"

great game from kemba. he defended really well and spent half his night chasing guards off the ball. we should have been feeding him in the 4th when things got tight. i dont know why we didnt go to him until those last 2 drives. the dj/mully pick and roll wasnt working. that was clearly the time to let kemba do his thing.

great game from hendo.

someone around me had a serious case of gas. who drops bombs like that in a crowd?

no doubt. i've been talking about him for years but he is by far my favorite commentator on the league. steph ready (when they give her a chance), hubie brown and rick kamla (the few times he does games) are next on my list of color guys (and gals).

uncle steve is a trainwreck and dell, while a nice story and nice guy is so vanilla as an announcer. steph ready is so much better.

quiet game thread tonight. i figured the kemba lovers would have been all over this one. ;)

i never did catch what happened to dj white. where was he? i guess i should check my twitter feed, huh?

i really is shocking to see how bad tyrus looks this season. he has really regressed since his first season with us.

btw... a couple of those fouls on biz were clean, right? i seemed to me like he got screwed on a few calls. as usual i loved his defensive awareness. the one play that he screwed up bad was when he fould udoh on the post up. he bought the fake. he needs to learn to stay down on the fakes. he is such a great shotblocker he can afford to wait that extra second and still get to the shot or at least alter it.

Great game. Had tons of fun. Remember the play in the first half where Kemba steals the ball and Nate fouls him and Kemba runs up the steps. I high fived him as he ran by me on the way up the steps. Pretty cool.

Loved the line up change tonight. Kemba brings so much energy. The crowd loves him and it raises the level of excitement in the arena. I also really like Hendo being more aggressive and driving hard to the basket.

Totally agree on Tyrus. The guy gets no lift on his drives to the basket, when he makes it that far. He usually tries to split double teams and loses the ball.

Just gone done watching the game. My thoughts:

1st Qtr:
Diaw gets yanked from the starting line up? No surprises there. Little doubt Coach Silas has zero love for him.
That said, 2 PG line up to start? Not a fan........although with Ellis as their starting SG I guess this is a team we can do it against.
DJA and Kemba have a VERY good understanding of Mully and where he likes the ball. Probably says more about him than it does them?
Ellis is too physical for Kemba. Kemba quickly finding out the difference between NCAA ball and NBA ball.
Mully shoots much better from a stationary position than he does if he has to step into the shot.
Hendo's handles are MUCH improved - and I'm seriously digging it. That drive was tasty.
Again Mully with the one handed rebound attempt. He needs to work on hand strengthening techniques because he needs to pull those down and own them.
Kemba relishing the starting role and is every where on the offensive end. Really active. REALLY wish he was 6'6" and a legit SG.
KEMBA FOR THREE!! Loving him as our SG.
Mully taking 3's? Do not like (making them or not - and he just made one)
HOLY BALL MOVEMENT!! 3 passes (Mully even involved!!) and the Kemba three ball! I've missed you good basketball.
Kemba is out of his freaking mind this qtr (reverse layup).
38pts in the 1st? LOL!! Lately we haven't scored 38pts in a half!!

2nd Qtr:
Biz in to start the 2nd. Love that. Hope he gets loads of burn.
Biz with good from from the line.
UPS with the nice offense board and put back dunk. That is his niche. No more ling J's for him.
Biz is playing right now with DJA, Higgy Jr and Diaw (along with UPS). With DJA, Higgy Jr and Diaw out there he should get the looks he needs. Lets see what happens.
Biz with the huge rim protection coming across and stuffing McGuire. Dude needs more burn. No doubt about it.
BORIS TO BIZ FOR THE JAM!!! Boris SO needs to be our 6th man.
DJA with the sweet pass to Biz on the drive and drop but Biz didn't have his hands up and ready. Got to learn to be ready at all times and then the easy pts will come.
Biz defends the P&R like a mo fo. Dudes got seriously quick feet for such a large unit. He can show all the way out and still get back in time.
It's official: Nepotism be damned, Higgy Jr is serviceable. Not awesome, not great, not good but serviceable (more so than guys like Jefferson and Hughes).
I scoffed at someone today, but Biz really does scare dudes from coming inside........................already.
Biz with 5 solid mins. Would have liked him to have more though. Could have given him at least 8 IMO.
DJA makes the opposing PG look small when Robinson is guarding him. Can't say that too often (unless Boykins is playing).
Diaw is a fantastic 6th man. At 9 mil per year he's too expensive for a 6th man - but we have $$$$ to burn so who gives a f*ck? Keep playing him as our 6th man for the betterment of the team.
That was a Miami Heat like flop by Robinson to draw that offensive foul on the DJA drive.
Uncle Steve talking about the no call on Gordon last night when he rail roaded Hendo. I'm shocked that he even remembers that play considering he forgets the names of Bobcats players playing tonight as plays happen.
LOVE seeing Mully take it to the rack like that off the roll. Heck, I just love to see us playing a traditional P&R!!
Ellis is the type of player I enjoy watching but would hate if he was on my team.
Anyone else think that Mully could probably windmill dunk in the open court ala Gerald Walace?
I hate, hate, HATE the "taunting/swing on the rim" T. It's a rule that was obviously made up by a white, middle aged, suit wearing accountant type that has NEVER thrown down during a game in his life. Let them be free is what I say.......
Uncles Steve with the Hollins dunk/taunt story was a long as it was boring. Someone put this fool in a home already and give me the mic.
Beyonce playing over the PA during that time out. My God I would drive a hole straight through her.
Sort of forgot that Hendo was even playing this game. Kemba starting at the 2 sort of makes Hendo disappear into the back ground?
And as I type that Hendo comes over for a sick weak side block on Ellis!!!!
DJA really, REALLY likes to oop to Mully - pity Mully blew that last one. Wonder why T2 doesn't want to get in on the act? Not smart enough?
DJA really has that high kiss off the glass working well for him this season.
66pts in a half? That's freaking hilarious. All week we have been lucky to score 66 in a full game!!

3rd Qtr:
He missed it, but I love to see Mully back to the basket bump his defender deep twice then take the jump hook. There is serious promise there. Much more than I gave him credit for at OSU and when we drafted him. He really is very Kaman like.
When T2 plays in control, within himself and as a role player/part of a team he's actually likeable. I like his "every now and then blocked shot or jump step lay up" when he is under the radar and more a complimentary piece like this.
Kemba with the SICK split of the double and a really nice bounce pass to T2 off the screen - he just needed to put a little more bounce on it and T2 would have stuffed it rather that blowing the layup. GREAT signs by Kemba though.
Wow. That Jenkins dude just punked DJA. Play some D son.
"5 on the shot clock" when the ball is in T2's hands is one of the last things you ever want to hear as a Bobcats fan.
Hope both Mully and Biz turn into gym rats this summer and put some serious muscle on. They would both (and our team) be better off for it.
My wife makes the best toasted cheese and avocado sandwiches known to man.
How cool is it that our starting 7ft C is a 90+% FT shooter? Suck that LA Clippers!!
MULLY WITH THE HUGE BLOCK ON THE ELLIS DUNK ATTEMPT!!!
Kemba is SICK!!! What a drive to the right, floating behind the back board for the pull up J!!!
Hendo on the switch off the Mully screen with another Wade like drive and score. More of those improved handles. That's what we need. Screw the three point shot. I want handles like that.
DAMN THEY CALLED THAT FOUL AGAINST KEMBA!!! He made a seriously nice last nano second pass to Mully for the jam. Heads up pass by Kemba - even if it wont count as an assist.
Awesome patience by DJA off that inbound with only 3 secs left to pop Hendo free, get him the open look and allow him to nail the open J.
Bet Fats is feeling nice and cosy warm wrapped up in his Bobbies blankie watching this offensive explosion right about now!!!!
Hendo with the attempted alley to Mully - which he missed - but 2 things: 1 = Hendo coming down the court, heads up willing to throw it and 2 = Mully running the court and pointing skywards at the FT line asking Hendo to toss it. Keep in mind that Hendo and Mully were side by side under the rim when Hendo pulled down the board to initiate the break - meaning our 7 footer beat him down the court. Seriously, 6:30 mark of the 3rd. Check it out - I replayed it a dozen times and watched it again and again. I think I'm in love.
Mully with the SICK back handed bounce pass to the middle lane cutting Boris. Whitey's got game.
Uncle Steve: "Now the lead is only 15". Really? Only? Dude, we have been LUCKY to score 15 in a half this past week.
Hendo with the sweet pivot and step through. Welcome to Bronze Hammersville.
Holy creap. Even though he missed the layup (Hendo got the put back) Kemba is CRAZY quick up the court (should have passed the ball ahead though).
2:45 to go in the 3rd, up by 20 and no Biz yet?
Condolences to DJW and his family in Alabama.
Hey, Biz is in!!
GOD Biz wants the ball in the paint on offense. He really calls for it. Good sign that he wants it so bad IMO.
LOVE seeing Boris drive the middle, draw the D then drop off to Biz along the base. It's exactly what the young fella needs.
DAMN shame that buzzer beater by Kemba wont count.
..................and it didn't. :(

4th Qtr
DJA - Higgy JR - Hendo - Boris - Biz to open the last. I like it. Hope this means Biz gets loads of looks.
Anyone else hate it when Uncle Steve announces the players out of sequence? Rather than saying PG thru C he'll say "out there now Brown, Biyombo, Augustin, Higgins and Diaw"? Maybe it;s just me? Maybe I just resent the dude too much? I REALLY want his job.
Bobbies playing a little too "street ball" style to open the 4th for my liking.
Two fouls back to back that were called on Biz that I really think weren't there. I think they had more to do with the refs having no idea who he is or just how long he is. I hope that a year or two in the league will negate that and those calls will stop being made.
Boris with a HORRIBLE 2 mins. Time to bring T2 back in and sit him next to Mully.
And out he comes.
Contrary to recent showings, Coach Silas has done a bang up job with his subs/rotations tonight IMO.
HOW THE HELL WAS THAT A BLOCK ON MULLY????? He was set for about 15 secs?
6:30 to go in the game and for the 1st time tonight, I am nervous.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd the midget hits a 3. Eff me. Lead is only 8 now after being close to 20 all night.
If Hendo had dunked that off the lane drive and T2 pass it would have been Blake like.
Unless he is shooting it, the ball in Mully's hands for an extended period of time is a bad thing.
Hendo with another classy dive. He's just moved up into the Silver.
Mully LOVES that fake J from the top of the key and quick pass to the cutter along the base. I LOVE him for being able to see and make it.
Even though he missed, I like that Mully seems comfortable laying the ball up lefty. Kemba is the same. He doesn't have to turn himself inside out on the drive because he can use his left. Lost art that.
If Mully has 4 fouls, like he just did, the LAST place I want to see him pick up his 5th is 25ft away from the rim - like that. Got to be smarter. He;s too important to us (shocked as I am that I just wrote that??)
9pt lead, 2:18 to go. Why do I get the feeling we are going to Lolcat this up?
DJA goes 0-2 from the line? Spazz.
KEMBA WITH ICE IN HIS VEINS!!!|
AND THEN WITH THE SPINNING FINGER ROLL AND ONE!!!
GOD I love Kemba's smile!!!
Just watched the replay. It was actually a stutter step, hesitation THEN spin THEN finger roll!! Swag.
DJA with the DAGGER!!!
Pretty relieved. If we had lost tonight we would have been the 1st team this season to lose all three on a back to back to back.
Just got done watching the game. 2:05am. Thank GOD tomorrow morning is my sleep in morning!!

Good read. I love Uncle Steve, and that Hollins taunt story never gets old!
