Ramsey looked tired but he was playing in Arteta's position next to Song, the lack of creativity wasn't his fault. All Wenger's fault imo - Benayoun and Rosicky's lack of quality, and Arshavin and Walcott's lack of consistency are all his decision on who to sign and who not to sign.

Re: 2011
Walcott looked good a few months ago, but is now useless. I wouldn't blame Wenger entirely. Gazidis is in charge of player movement now, Wenger identifies targets, Gazidis signs and negotiates.

Partly Arteta's quality, partly not having Ramsey behind the strikers, and partly not having the familiarity in midfield Song-Arteta-Ramsey have.
Another game Wilshere would likely have made the difference in.

Re: 2011
Most of Arsenal's offensive midfielders look spent/impotent. I'm surprised Wenger hasn't given Oxlade-Chamberlain more of an opportunity.
On the other hand, that Miquel is pure class. He is going to be a hell of a defender.

Re: 2011
If i were an Arsenal fan i'd be very understanding of today, and this season in general. It's tough to win when you're missing Wilshere, Arteta, Santos, and Sagna.
Frankly, i hope they make into the top 4 ahead of Chelsea.

Re: 2011
MIquel does look good, even out of position at LB. He, Chamberlain, and Coquelin certainly give some hope. Coquelin reminds me of Flamini with his fire and versatility, but he's better technically than Flamini.

Re: 2011
I haven't had a chance to see much of Coquelin at his natural position. He was just awful at Old Trafford, but i imagine that was an exceptional situation.
It's going to be tough to accommodate both Vermaelen and Miquel eventually. All Miquel needs to do is to add some upper body strength over the summer and he is good to go, in my opinion.
Edit: I actually saw Coquelin away at Olympiakos as well. Wasn't much good there either. I like Frimpong better so far.

Philippe Auclair said on the arsecast this week he doesn't think Le Coq's ceiling is very high. Made me sad because Auclair usually knows his stuff.

They're both left-footed so I guess so... they're very different players though.Chandler Bing wrote:It's going to be tough to accommodate both Vermaelen and Miquel eventually.
Koscielny is borderline world class now as well.

I don't know. I can't see him being a world beater, but I think he can develop into a world class midfielder.

Koscielny is fantastic. One of the real bright spots in our season. Can't wait to see Gibbs-Vermaelan-Koscielny-Sagna all on the pitch at one time.

Very different players indeed. But one of them would have to be comfortable playing on the right. That would also mean sacrificing Mertesacker. I love his game, despite the initial struggles.
Koscielny has definitely improved but i'm still not very high on him.

Maybe he'll do that at DM. I'd been hoping he'd make the jump to a Wilshere-type box-to-box mid.

It might get much tougher for at least two of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea to sign the players they want because of the limited CL spots. I think Arsenal should spend this window.
