OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I know Memphis is trying to get rid of Mayo, but why would they do this? They get nothing in return (imo a created TPE is nothing).

Supposedly the rumor in NJ is that MEM has been offered Morrow or Farmar, cash and a pick for Mayo, and MEM still can't decide whether to take it.
I think we'd need to add more to this trade to compete with that offer.

Re: MIN - LAL - MEM
IDK about this.
With the way Adelman has been playing Ricky heavy minutes lately and the fact that Barea has been in-n-out with injuries this year, I think keeping Ridnour for at least this season is a necessity.
And as much as we have all been dogging on Luke this year, he has actually been one of our most reliable shooters on the floor and right now he is our only player after Rubio who can create his own shot off the dribble. So trading Luke right now wouldn't be a smart idea. The only thing that's dumb right now is that he's STARTING AT SG and he should be backing up Rubio.
Why can't we trade one of our players that is overcrowding our front court, like AR or Pek or even Wes who OJ would replace on the wing and just cut out LA all-together because I doubt Memphis would have the need to use a TPE on anything.

Maybe one of Tolliver, Randolph, Pekovic plus Mem '13 1st back?

That's my take as well.
Both rumored Mayo destinations were eastern conference teams. Coincidence or maybe they don't want to give up Mayo to a future conference rival? So maybe we'd have to overpay to compensate for that as well.

I would think that Mayo could play some point in a pinch.

Re: MIN - LAL - MEM
We really need to make some noise in the trade rumors, i'm getting really antsy.
I want to know that Kahn is looking to improve this roster RIGHT NOW and is not content on competing with the holes we have on our team, everybody already knows that huge problems we have at SG and C.

if Tolliver can guard opposite center I would do Tolliver + Mem 1st back (maybe also Henderson) for Mayo

I think we all are. On the bright side, maybe Kahn has finally found a way to stop "the leak" problem Simmons was ranting about last year.
We also don't want to make a panic trade though. As bad as a lot of our young players have been, they still present tradeable pieces and expiring contracts. Depending on what's available out there, it might be a good idea to take our lumps this year and have cap space available to go after free agents or do S&T deals in the offseason.

Ronzone? I always thought he was a little candid in interviews. Makes me wonder if behind the scenes he gave even more info.

Yeah, I've wonder about that too. He has a glowing reputation among NBA writers and that makes me wonder if its because he's always spoon feeding them info.

Re: MIN - LAL - MEM
Not sure why LA or MEM would sign on. I could be wrong but I don't think Memphis is close to the luxury tax. TPE has more value to teams over it. I also think the Griz would have interest in Luke. They seem to like depth.
