Brandon Marshall?

Post#1 » by GetBuLLish » Thu Jan 12, 2012 8:09 pm

JayCutler6 Jay Cutler
No brainer RT @KRock_19: @Shields3L Just read Bears could potentially trade their 3rd round picks for @BMarshall19 ....opinion?

A) Do you think we could pull this off?

B) Would you want us to pull this off?

In my opinion, we should if we could. I have no idea if we can, though.

If we can do it i'm all for it. Marshall and Cutler were amazing together in Denver.

Look in every thread on this board & you will see where I've been screaming for Brandon Marshall. Cutler wanted him when he first got here.

Slam dunk, if the Fins would do it. Are we likely to draft a more productive WR than Marshall? I think not.

Agree with all three of you. Hopefully Miami would do it.

I really don't understand how trades work in the NFL, especially those involving picks. So I have no idea if this is even possible.

Fingers crossed...

Does anyone have an actual link to back this up? I would be thrilled if this happened. People forget that Brandon Marshall actually a Pro-Bowler this year, with Matt Moore throwing too him.

REC YDS AVG TD
81 1,214 15.0 6

Compare that to Knox

REC YDS AVG TD
37 727 19.6 2

He's also not old at 27. Marshall, Bennett, Knox, and Hester that's a nice WR core one that can win a companionship. We also wouldn't have to spend a 1st on a WR and can add some youth to the defense, or maybe another elite o-line prospect. If it takes a third I wouldn't even blink to do it.

Hellz yeah, I'd do that. He signed a 5yr $50m deal in 2010 and that's probably even below what guys like VJax are going to be asking for on the market. Will turn 28 in March so he's right in his prime years.

If I were in charge:

3rd rounder for Marshall
re-sign Forte, Melton, Williams, Idonije
sign D. Ferguson, C.Nicks, R. Sims, or B. Grubbs
sign Umeniyora, Rasheen Mathis, Visante Shiancoe
draft M. Floyd, Markelle Marshall or Stephon Gilmore, Travis Lewis, OL from Wisconsin, CB/S, DE, RB

win a championship

3rd Rounder for Marshall would be a steal! I'd also trade away an aging Briggs for a High draft pick.

Franchise Forte & go hard after Mario Williams or Cliff Avril in FA.

Go for it. Drops are a huge issue with him, but I'm putting that down to low motivation. I'm hoping that him getting back with Cutler will increase his motivation. He's still a valuable WR, and he should be in his prime right now. He's put up good numbers with mediocre QBs throwing to him.

Briggs is on the wrong side of 30. I doubt the Bears get more than a 3rd rounder for him. The Bears scheme is perfect for a will backer like Briggs. I doubt he replicates the amount of success he's had with the Bears on other teams. He'll be decent, but don't think he'll have as much as an impact.

I believe that he found this out the hard way a few years ago when he laughed at the Bears offer & tried to test free-agency looking for big money, only to come crawling back to the Bears original offer.

I'd trade both 3rd round picks for Marshall if need be. I want Marshall in Chicago. But if the Bears could get Marshall for the pick the Bears got for Greg Olsen, then I would be happy.

We have $26 million in cap space, not $126 million.

"Marshall, who had his two best seasons with Cutler in Denver, joined "The Waddle & Silvy Show" on ESPN 1000 and was asked if his recent Twitter exchange with his former quarterback could lead to a reunion in Chicago with the Bears. "

Thanks for that link. If only Angelo would have pulled the trigger before Miami traded for him :( .

this is a no-brainer. Marshall may be exactly what we need at wideout.

So what was his response?

Return to Chicago Bears
