I could understand the change from Wright to Beas, but giving up Biedrins with Kwame out? We all know how much of an injury-free guy Pek is...

I am 100% sure that they could get MUCH better offers for Monta Ellis. And no need to say that they don't need Love having a guy like Lee who might be less "rebounder", but who's a proven great secondary player, being Monta and Curry the leaders of the team.

I would like to get Monta Ellis, but we have absolutely no assets to lure GSW.

You miss the biggest part of this deal -- GSW saves $40 million dollars, and the poster's deal allows GSW to rebuild financially.

You may say Monta > Beasley and
Wright > Ridnour
but
paying $40 extra mil << young, fairly priced assets.

I could see both GM's passing, I could see both GM's taking it .. I just don't know.

If they take it, Wolves would be 1 center away from being serious contenders.

I'd reluctantly do it since we're not really losing anything valuable, and of course it's just Taylor's money were wasting. I like how it won't affect Williams' and Rubio's future contract, so there isn't really a huge risk. We can't get a pickup like Ellis through free agency or the draft (thanks McHale). I suspect other players could become available (e.g. Bogut or Martin) in the near future as it becomes clear who will make the playoffs.

I don't know think Taylor would like that cost involved. I doubt Barea could even coexist with Ellis.

How can you hate Beasley and love Ellis?
22.0 FGA, 6.2 FTA, 23.9 PPG.
His TS% the last 3 years
09- .503
10- .517
11- .536

Seriously?
Can you tell me how terrible scoring efficiency from an undersized SG who jacks up 22 shots a game helps us?

Besides Ellis having a higher usage but turning the ball equally or less, getting to the line more, having an assist:turnoer ratio greater than 1, etc etc? Shrug.

I listed his FTAs and TS%.
Really, they are Beasleyesque. Honest, those are the real TS%s
And unlike Beasley, he doesn't have size so his D will always suck and at age 26 he is what he is.
I don't have a problem with Beasley for Ellis. I have a problem with Beasley + expirings for Ellis + bad contract.

And I listed several reasons why someone might want Ellis but not Beasley. The punchline is that despite not being highly efficient, he's more efficient than Beasley and has some playmaking skills.

Let me put this another way.
I would much rather have Afflalo than Ellis for the same salary.
Many thought $8 mil a year was too much for Afflalo.
I'd rather trade for Belinelli or Courtney Lee than Ellis.

I think the idea behind trading for Ellis is he fills a need of a guy on the wing that can create his own shot. None of those other names do that and so we'd still be seeing Love airball three pointers or Beasley get stuffed at the rim at the end of games. That ability alone is worth a premium these days IMO.

I agree that has value. And like I said I'd have no problem trading Beasley for Ellis. But Ellis is basically the SG version of Beasley last year. Way too much ISO and usage for his efficiency. I think adding all that salary does more damage than Ellis does good. IMO Barea/Rubio is as good as Rubio/Ellis. Maybe I'm wrong on this one as I'm clearly the minority but I just don't think he's worth that much.

Personally, I don't hate Beas. But I am already asking myself if he will ever live up to his potential & talent. It's already his 4th season in the NBA and he still is a project instead of a reality.

By now, he should be up there competing with Durant for the 2nd best SF in the league spot. But it's like he doesn't want to fight for it. It's like he doesn't care about anything and just wants to shoot some hoops and get his money.

I think that the worst thing that happened to him was to be drafted by the Heat. Had he been drafted as a franchise player instead of going to D.Wade&friends' team who were having some fun, things might have been different, who knows?!

Let's see first how's his comeback. Maybe these days when he was injured and has been watching the team fight each and every game might change his attitude. *Crossfingers*

BTW, I didn't see him on the bench @Atlanta....

If Beas was healthy for those two games we couldn't seem to score in for vast amounts of time, we'd probably have two more wins. The man is our best scorer when we need it, just ahead of Barea by my reckoning. That is worth something. If those two had made the road trip we'd have beat Atlanta easily...
