Wall does have huge ability, but the problems with his game are the same ones that were evident when he came out of high school and in his year at Kentucky and in his rookie season. He can't shoot and he's too careless with the ball. In high school, his physical ability overwhelms everything else because he would rarely go up against someone on his level athletically. That physical advantage was diminished in college, but still there -- he was still a much better athlete than anyone he faced most night.
In the NBA, that athletic advantage is way diminished. He's still quicker and faster than most guys he faces, but not by much. And what advantage he does have can be further diminished because NBA coaches are the best in the world -- WAY better than college coaches. So they scheme for him and make life hard for him. Which is going to continue to happen until Wall learns how to shoot and places more value on possessions. Or until the talent around Wall is upgraded to the point where he has a few teammates who are efficient enough scorers that they demand defensive attention.

I sincerely hope that the second option doesn't happen anytime soon; I rather have Wall being "forced" to change his game because he is ineffective, rather than play the same way he does now and get away with it...
IMO, upgrading the talent won't really make Wall "better", it'll just make things easier for him, making it so that he might not feel the need to change his game...
