Paul George / George Hill

Post#1 » by Gomes3PC » Sat Jan 14, 2012 3:16 pm

Cs fan here. Any chance Bird would entertain a Paul George or George Hill trade? Thinking Ray Allen would look fantastic for the Pacers but only guy who I can see making sense would be one of the Georges.

No. Paul George is virtually untouchable and George Hill is a local guy that helps sell tickets/jerseys. Plus, they are 21 and 25 years old and make far less money. I think Ray Allen would get the Pacers about as far in the playoffs as these guys would so it wouldn't make sense to trade one of them for him. If George Hill wasn't a local product, it might be something the team would do but since he is a local product, it would upset a lot of fans to trade him. No way they'd trade Paul George for Ray Allen though. If the Pacers want to add Ray Allen, there best bet is to go after him in the offseason. Assuming the Celtics don't give him an extension during the season that is.

I don't see it happening.

Hill cost us our entire draft class, and a prospect, so he's out of the equation. We should resign him.

Paul is still growing mentally and physically (2" over the summer) at the young age of 21. He is also 4th in the NBA in 3-point %, which defeats the purpose of adding Ray.

Not to worry, you won't leave here empty-handed. We'll throw you Granger/ Collison for Rondo.

Ray Allen would be a perfect piece for this team, but not at the cost of George or Hill.

Agree. That's why I was aiming for Nash and Allen as free agents in the other thread.

These are the guys they need but given their age, I wouldn't trade for them. Unless the Suns want Collison and we absorb the rest of Nash's salary. But yeah, I wouldn't give up George or Hill for Allen. And the only reason I'd do Collison for Nash is because we still have George Hill. I actually don't dislike Collison like a lot of our fans but if we could sign Nash and Allen, I'd trade him for a draft pick/future prospect. He jacks up some bad shots but that doesn't bother me as much as his inability to finish. He's frustrated with it too. He beats people to the basket and when it's blocked or he misses, he always lays on the floor. If he ever learns to finish, he's a bad man.

only if you were getting a 28 year old Ray. getting him at this age does nothing. the only way you trade for a 35 year old now is if you think it makes you a champion this year. Ray and the rest of the Boston big three can't even get themselves to 500 now.

Ray Allen is too old.

Paul George is only 21 and still improving.

Bird has said that he was after George Hill for quite a while. I don't think he is going to trade him and I wouldn't want him to.
