You're correct -- I got my terminology mixed up.

But still, with the current state of the Hornets and with the players' seemingly unhappy stance with being there...

...I think it's perfectly realistic that (A) New Orleans realizes he doesn't want to stay and arranges a S&T or (B) a team offers him max money and the Hornets simply don't match the offer.

That picture is priceless! As much as I like Gordon, I really want a go-to post player first and foremost next year. If we can get that AND Gordon, that'd be awesome.

Anybody think Omer Asik is worth a look, or perhaps even a trade? The Bulls will be hard pressed to offer him much of any cash next year and when I've seen him he seemed to have a lot of grit and nasty in him for a Euro.

Asik+Brewer for Blatche? Could interest them if they plan to amnesty Boozer at some point.

That could drastically improve the Wiz defense. If Ronnie Brewer could just shoot more consistently...

Brewer would essentially be filler for that trade and provide some depth at the same time. Ask
Is the price, could give our front court some credibility.

Memphis renounced their rights to 7'2" C Hamed Haddadi.

He has potential as a good defender and a rebounder, but he's foul-prone. Kind of surprised to see him released.

Boston, Miami, New York, Dallas, San Antonio? Or too much of a project for teams that think they can do it this year?

Haddadi destroyed in the last Olympics. Heat should give him a whirl, he could step in for Big Z eventually.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

What do you guys think about taking a chance and bringing Jeff Green home after this season? We all know he's a tweener, but we can use his versatility, shooting, and positive locker room presence. He'll be 26 next season and would probably come relatively cheap.

What position would he play and who's minutes would he take.No-room on the roster for someone like green unless we trade someone.

You're right, I'm assuming Lewis will be bought out and praying Dray is gone as well. If they're gone, Singleton and Green would start with Vesely and Booker backing them up. That gives us four energy/hustle players who defend and are capable of playing both forward positions.

Singleton/Vesely
Green/Booker

None of this matters if we end up with Davis or Drummond, but it's still interesting to think about. Green gives Wall another decent jump shooting option out there too.

If we move Blatche, say, for LA's TPE and their 1st (maybe they would only give us their 2nd)...

Then id take a look at Jeff Green just on a one year deal or something. At least he would rebound.

I'm not particularly thrilled with the thought of acquiring him. We're pretty deep at the SF/PF tweener position with Singleton, Booker and Vesely. And we'd probably be adding a PF in the draft. It seems to me that others more in need of a player like that would be willing to offer more money. I'd rather use our resources to find another good SG or a backup PG.

In addition to nate's thoughts, there's this: Jeff Green isn't all that good. The Wizards don't need more middling (or worse) players -- they need high-quality players.

David Aldridge just posted in his Blog that the Wiz covet Jeff Green and will be players for him after he recovers from his heart surgery and is an UFA.

http://www.nba.com/2012/news/features/david_aldridge/01/16/few-extensions-for-players/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1

Here's an excerpt:

The Wizards, according to sources, have long coveted Green, who played locally at Georgetown and who would provide some desperately needed maturity and young experience next season for one of the league's most callow teams. Assuming the Wizards use their amnesty provision next summer to free themselves from the final season of Rashard Lewis's contract -- $22.69 million -- they'd be in prime position to give Green a big payday, assuming everything checks out post-operation. And if the Nets, say, lose out in the Dwight Howard-Deron Williams sweepstakes, they'll have a lot of flexibility, too.

Every patient condition is different, of course, so their operations and recoveries will be different, too. But several NBA players, including Etan Thomas and Ronny Turiaf --now with Washington -- have undergone heart-related procedures in recent years and been able to return to the court and be productive players. Falk said the doctor who perfomed the operation on Green at the Cleveland Clinic said it was, relatively, a "simple procedure" that physicians have improved on dramatically in the past few years, to the point where it's almost considered routine.

"He told me (Green) would have had more of a problem coming back if he'd torn an ACL," Falk said.

Why is Joel Przybilla still a free agent? Even taking the Wizards out of the equation, he should be on an NBA roster.

Putting the Wizards in the equation, he'd be perfect for McGee to learn under. He is one of the best low-post defenders we've seen in the league lately, has a real tough-guy mentality and is a smart player. I know we have Turiaf to fill this void for the team but Joel would be even better and cheaper (assuming he takes the minimum). Also it let's us use Turiaf in a "Hinrich move" (as someone else on the board coined so nicely).

The Blazers have been after him, he doesn't appear ready/willing to come-back to the NBA yet.

Jeff Green?

Further evidence that Ernie Grunfeld needs to go ASAP. That was truly frightening to read.

i hinted at this in the draft thread but i'm pretty firmly planted in the james harden bandwagon. harden and wall would be the best backcourt in the east, nay the league, nay... the WORLD.
