My MLK day tradition is to pull up real gm around 5 or 6 looking to find some pre-game info only to find out the game has been over for a couple hours, I do it every year. Somebody put a reminder in the game thread next year.

I love how this team fell apart at the end there. Even though I would like a win, this team really needs to solidify itself as one of bottom teams to net at least a top 5 or top 3 pick. We could use one of the bigs projected to go in the top 5 of this year's draft bad to get us some size to crash the boards.

ho hum... not really much to say about this game. we fell apart in the 2nd half.

kryie irving is impressive. he is crazy quick. kemba played some pretty decent defense on him and he still scored some ridiculous baskets.

i thought both kemba and mullens were better than their boxscores would show.

the scouting has caught up to mullens. varejao defended him the same way udoh did in the 2nd half of that gs game. defenders are going to get up in his face from 20 feet and not let him get any open looks. mullens only open looks came on the 3pt attempts. however, mullens played a more physical game than he has previously. he rebounded well and he delivered a few fouls down low.

white had 0 rebounds coming into that 4th quarter. he finished with 5 as well as some tough baskets. that was probably his best quarter all around. i wasnt impressed with him in the game thru the first 3.

tyrus was invisible again other than the 3 blocks. so he can still block shots, great for him. i'm 100% sure biz could have scored 1pt, grabbed 1 rebound and blocked 3 shots in 16 minutes. tyrus started passing up open shots like he was scared to shoot. this isnt going well for tyrus. not well at all.

i agree that not playing biz was completely inexcusable. silas definitely has some tough choices to make in terms of playing time between mullens, diaw, tyrus, white and biz. however, of the 5 biz is the last one i want to see getting a dnp. hopefully this was just a one game aberration. maybe silas felt biz needed a day off. but if this turns into a trend with biz, i am going to start screaming for silas' head.

dj was great, minus two awful lob passes to nobody.

i cant wait to draft anthony davis only to have him sit on the bench next year behind dj white and tyrus thomas.

mj, higgins or cho need to sit silas down and explain to him that he needs to give biz a mandatory 10 minutes per game, regardless of score or opposition.

or maybe higgins and cho just need to take it out of silas' hands and draft diaw or white or tyrus to open up some room for biz. whatever it takes i dont care.

and i'm pretty much done with the higgins experiment. hammer can have his job back.

Mullens is blaming tired legs for his performance on twitter.

Now that the scouts have figured out how to defend him it will be a real test to see how he responds.
Will he just be a jump shooting role player or true scorer? Lets see how he adjusts.

@Fats - I thought about Tyrus while I was watching Moneyball the other night. Even though he's a good player at times, there are other players who can provide the same numbers and hustle without the huge salary. Anthony Randolph is one guy that could likely come in here, play 20 minutes, and put up Tyrus stats. He's much cheaper than Tyrus.

I don't have a problem with Silas keeping Biz out. We have to take baby steps with him and until we move someone (presumably Diaw or Thomas), he's not going to receive minutes. I expected that coming into the system and everyone else should have as well. Likewise, if Reggie Williams was healthy, Kemba wouldn't be seeing as much PT.

I'm going to respectfully disagree, I've never been a fan of the "bring them along slowly" method. There are some things that you just can't learn from the bench like feel for the game, speed, etc and I think that's what Biz needs to work on most. Let him get in there, get schooled by veterans, hit the rookie wall, go zero from the field a few games and all that so he'll have a crystal clear idea of what he needs to work on for next year.

Haven't read the GT yet - will go back and read it now. But 1st, my thoughts.

- Wonder if when I read back over the GT people will bash Kemba for his D on Irving?
- Kemba took a lot of bad shots. A real lot of bad shots.
- I was shocked to check the box score after the game to see that Mully had 12 boards. If he had 12 he should have had 20 with the bunnies he missed. It's amazing that someone so large and fluid is such an unco when it comes to rebounding.
- Mully also took a lot of bad shots tonight but that was mainly to Varejao playing him so well.
- UPS has a sick ability to pick dudes pockets face to face. It's a real skill.
- Speaking of UPS, how the hell did he dunk that fast break? Thought he took off way too early. Nice extension.
- Any chance we could get some FT practice in real soon?
- Loved seeing T2 with some weak side rim protection tonight.
- Speaking of which, where the hell was Biz tonight?
- We would have wont this game with Mags playing. He had them in the bonus for so long but didn't take advantage by getting to the line. Mags does that with ease.
- DJA looking like a real floor general pointing directions and making the right plays.
- Boris was awful...........which is quickly becoming the norm and not the exception.
- Jr has an ugly arse J that he launches from his shoulder. Because of that he should never take 6 FGA in under 12 mins of PT.
- DJA and Kemba on the court together is at least exciting and, the ball movement is good and we finally get out and run.
- DJA went from throwing pin point alley oops to missing on most of his connections.
- We took way too many jump shots.
- DJW and UPS are very solid bench players. I like what they bring.
- Boris is nonchalant as a starter and as a bench player.
- Irving is good. REAL good............but we all knew that going into the draft.
- Pity we wont be contending when Jamison's contract is up because he would be an awesome addition to that type of team.

Actually...

Looks like he just wants to play there for family reasons. Not for the money.

That's just it though. We obviously wont be contending next season when Jamison is a FA - so I don't want him.

Ah, I see. We'll he is a good vet to have in the locker room on your relatively young team. You could do much worse with another player than him at your 10th spot on the roster. Vet minimum would probably do it.

Thanks for the GT guys, it seems Silas done lost his damn mind not playing Biz a single minute. Thought he would've made some adhustments by strengthening our interior D. Hmmmm me thinks Silas is starting to piss me off

DJ White has to have the shortest scouting report.

Guard the midrange J, sometimes.

I'll take Biz's presence over his on and off jump shot any day of the week.

I was a little disappointed in this loss because I felt like the Bobcats should have won. I felt like everyone played a solid to decent game today. There's not much to nitpick about. I mean, Cory Higgins played like a undrafted free-agent, but that's what he is. D.J. White stagnated the offense (and defense) on more occasions than a couple, but he also made up for it on others. Kemba Walker played the role of the volume shooter instead of an efficient scorer, but he was all over the floor defensively with 4 steals (maybe 10 if you included deflections) and 2 blocks, not to mention he was a ball of energy. D.J. Augustin played exceptionally well, but he had his faults, although I must say that his weaknesses weren't exposed much, if at all, throughout the game. Gerald Henderson had a stellar game in which he produced just above his averages, so you can't be mad at that. To me, Anderson Varejao was the disruptive X-Factor on the boards that cost Charlotte the loss. I wish Paul Silas would've played Bismack Biyombo some sporadic minutes while Kyrie Irving was on the floor though, if not for anything, at least just to see what would happen. The lack of a shot blocker to alter Irving's shot in the paint was the second biggest key in this recent defeat. Heck, even Tyrus Thomas and Derrick Brown should have gotten more minutes for defensive purposes. They had 5 blocks between them, but neither player managed to peak over 20 minutes.
