Honest question.

If you guys were a mid-level fighter trying to break into the big show down the line and you realize that you don\t have top=level skills, would you use? Just asking.

Disappointing, but not a surprise. Fighters and juice are quite common, just a matter of how well you can cycle and be clean for tests.

If I *thought* I wouldn't get caught, without hesitation, yes.

You have to assume that some guys are juicing but aren't getting caught. The only way to make it a truly even playing field is to allow juicing. Personally, I want to see the best athletes possible and as long as there's serious money to be made, they're going to continue to level the playing field by any means necessary.

Except King Mo never was a mid-level fighter. He came into MMA with a ton of hype and was headlining Japanese cards at 2-0. So it is especially dumb for him.

Yes, he came in like that, but he is not fighting in the UFC.

If you're not in the UFC right now, after all the Zuffa purchases of rival companies, in the public's eyes, you are mid-level.

Mo knew he had to get into the UFc at all cost to make some big $$$, possibly fight Page, and this must've been a big reason as to why he took this chance.

Honestly I think saying steroids should be legal is one of the silliest comments to make about all sports, but especially mma.

Some guys don't want to deal with the health issues that come along with using. Those guys shouldn't be rendered irrelevant because other guys don't give a **** about the long-term effects. Additionally, its dangerous to get these juiced up gorillas in there punching each other in the heads. Whoever does it is cowardly. That goes for Thiago Silva, King Mo, Cyborg, whoever.

Your first point, yeah, it is silly to advocate their legality. Though the point remains that if you truly want a level playing field, you have to institute new policy that makes the consequences of being caught more intense than they currently are (and especially use random testing, even if fighters don't have fights lined up) OR legalize them entirely. Personally, I'd want the playing field leveled by snuffing out the dopers, but I'm not incredibly confident that the main players in the industry want people sniffing around. I imagine there are many, many more dopers, perhaps even some champions. The new Zuffa policy with regards to new signings is a step, but it's not going to do anything as long as random testing isn't performed.

Definitely agree with the second part. It is cowardly in terms of "man" points or the spirit of competition, but it's a risk/reward proposition that can hardly be considered cowardly when you consider the long-term effects. Stupid, unfortunate, and dangerous, yes.

Fighting is the purest form of competition. Two people enter a cage, and only the best man will leave the victor (in 99% of cases).

If one feels the need to juice, they obviously don't believe they can defeat their opponent without cheating. Why risk it, otherwise? Therefore to accept the fight and cheat, is cowardly (imo at least). It goes against everything the sport is based on, in terms of martial arts.

I agree with everything you said though. Crack down on it, imo.
