Shaun Livingston
I've always been intrigued by this guy. a 6'7 "TRUE" point guard. I would love for the raps to sign this guy and start him. with quality PT 15 pts 9 ast is not out of the question. and we could have him for cheap.
this draft lacks "true" PG's and unless the raps are signing DWill this off-season i don't know how they plan to solve the point guard problem.
save money here so we spend it elsewhere.

Re: Shaun Livingston
15 points, 9 assists? That's pretty much All Star level for a PG in the East.
No way is that realistic in my opinion.

his per36 numbers now are 10.5pts, 4.3 asts. He might be a decent backup, but that's about it imo.
I know it won't happen but we should sign JR Smith

Say what you want about his lack of IQ but I've always thought this guy had the potential to be a superstar in this league if he was given starter minutes instead of being relegated to the bench. I mean how long has he been in Denver? We've really only seen him play for one coach, a coach that never liked him from the start. I think we should give this guy a chance as the clear-cut best guard on the team and see what he does with it. I really think he would play well for Casey, and he's the kind of coach I think that could keep him disciplined. Smith can create his own shot, get to the rim better than anyone on our team, knock down the 3, and really has great court vision when he's at his best. At the very least he'd add some entertainment to our team with highlight reel dunks, fadeaway 3's and chicken dances, and I'm fairly confident that ACC security could diffuse any situation with any shockingly overweight siblings without creating a scene for the media to take notice of.
If it doesn't work out, we trade him in the summer or at the draft to a team that needs bench scoring.
And if anyone thinks there's no chance he'd sign here, I say he'd seriously consider it if we pitch him the idea that he'd be our primary option on offense (along with bargs of course) and could consistently put up 25 ppg if he played smart on O and good D, didn't chuck up 3's and got to the line. We're also probably the most attractive of the crappy teams where he could instantly be the star player.
Bayless / Calderon / Carter
JR Smith / Barbosa / Forbes
Derozan / Kleiza / James Johnson
Bargnani / Davis / Alabi
A .Johnson / Gray / Magloire
Waive R.Butler

IQ is a huge part of being a superstar, and this guy is a bonehead.

Horrible idea.
And Colangelo would never sign this guy because of his attitude.

So you want J.R. Smith to put up 25 ppg "without chucking and while getting to the line". Similarly, I think Anthony Carter could be more useful if he committed to being the greatest rebounder the league has ever seen.

**** your asterisk.

Then why bother replying...
Yes I understand his attitude is bad and he's rather dumb, but sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery and honestly, tell me what we have to lose? We'll lose more and end up with a better draft pick? Or we'll win more and be entertaining to watch?

He costs money, money that could be better spent no doubt.

If you read my post you would've seen that I suggested to trade him if he doesn't work out.
