Why are the Heat so much better w/o Wade this season?
I'm not sure about the exact statistics but I've watched every game this season so far and the Heat have always looked their best while Wade has been on the bench.
Any explanations? Were Wade's injuries that much of a hindrance to the team? Is it all just coincidence?
I mean don't get me wrong I love when the Heat play this well but part of me feels a bit uneasy when they keep doing it without their main guy and my favorite player.

Heat are better without an INJURED Wade shooting 40% but they're great when he was healthy in the first two games.

It could be a floor spacing or ball movement issue. When bron and wade iso too much, they get into problems. I would prefer Wade try to move without the ball more and switch it up when Bron post's up, but they really need to work on moving without the ball. Maybe Wade can work on his jump shot which has been some what inconsistent since '09 and be a devastating midrange shooter/slasher. I wouldn't look into things so much due to the lack of practice during the off season and injuries. I would love Wade to come back fully healthy and be a Mid Range Monster.

Re: Why are the Heat so much better w/o Wade this season?
Keep in mind the games we lost, is when Wade was injured.
In those games he kept trying to get his rhythm and he would keep missing and it'd turn into transition buckets, and result in a loss.
Remember vs Atlanta?
Like Chosen said, we're better without an INJURED Wade.
Though... more ball movement...
We needed Wade's shotblocking today though
When Wade would PASS the ball and collapse defenses despite being injured, Heat would be good. But look back, Wade would take TOO many shots when he's hurt and miss. It hinders the team. I got to admit, that's something LBJ doesn't do. It makes you appreciate LBJ's passing game when you see Wade take a boatload of shots just to get himself into a rhythm, at the wrong time of the game (4th quarter).

Agreed, but Lebron's attitude also changes a bit, he attacks a lot more; I hope this mentality remains intact for the remainder of the season.

1. It's because Lebron plays better when he's more ball dominant and has floor spacers like Battier/Miller/Jones/Bosh/Chalmers next to him. When Wade's on the floor defenses can collapse more know 1. Wade is a career 28% 3 point shooter and 2. Wade had his licence taken away to shoot 3's this year. So all in all they can just collapse knowing if Lebron hits a wide open Wade on the perimeter, they don't have to scuttle out there because he's gonna nail a triple, they can sit in the lane and hold their formations.
2. Bosh moves up to being the 2nd option instead of being under utilised as a 3rd option, he runs his own team with defensive specialist's and floor spacers.
I'm not sure if the HEAT are better without Wade, it's just that Bosh and Lebron are more comfortable running their owns teams and having a bit of time together.

Small sample size + Jesus Miller + Clutch Bosh = delusions of grandeur. PEACE.

This guy knows the game of basketball. In reality, LBJ & Wade are too much alike ,that their game really gets in each others way. If one of them could make a 3 pt jumper on point Heat would be favorites all day[guaranteed]

Granted we looked like **** the first half of this game too, but i agree with what other people said, lebron is more aggressive when he dominates the ball and spreads the ball with shooters around him, we all know that works in the regular season, but not the playoffs. We need wade for the playoffs, when the defense is turned up and two ball handlers is lethal

I'm not trying to suggest that the Heat are better of without Wade in any way. That is pure nonsense when Wade is at top form which we haven't seen yet this season.
Honestly I want Wade to sit out for the next 5-6 games at least because we have no reason to rush him in. We just need him healthy for the playoffs there's no way in hell the Pacers/76ers keep this pace up and beat us to the 2nd seed. And we all know how inconsistent the Magic are...
As long as we are going into the playoffs healthy and as a top 2 seed we're in good shape. I say we bench Wade for a few games to rest him up, keep winning games, and send a message to the rest of the NBA; even without one of our Big 3, we're still contenders.

As others have said, the spacing when Wade and LeBron are on the court together isn't very good. Compare that to tonight when LeBron was playing with Battier and Miller - it's really night and day.
When Wade gets back start them together and let them close together obviously, but give each guy more "alone time" on the court with Bosh/UD + shooters.
This isn't a Wade vs. LeBron thing. It's more about the overlapping talents, and overlapping deficiencies.

It becomes Lebron's Miami Heat and the ball is shared more.
Honestly with Lebron and Wade out there I think the team just doesn't feel the need to play their hardest.
They don't move around as much, not really a lot of ball movement, role players really just become bailout players.

Wade and Lebron are still redundant. Miami can still win a championship this way but to maximize this era they should trade Wade for a good big man, Wade would fetch a lot on the market.
Damn

How many times do Heat fans have to say that we are NEVER trading away Wade?

Bingo we have a winner.
This also plays into the who takes the last shot issue. Since Wade is not a 3pt shooter his man leaves him making it harder to attack the paint. Strangely Lebron is not that much better but teams tend to have a man on him at all time giving Wade spacing to attack.

Re: Why are the Heat so much better w/o Wade this season?
do guys realize how important it is to have two people that can create shots and handle the ball? the reason lebron struggled in cleveland and rose struggled against us last year was because once we doubled rose and took him away, the offense stopped. Sure at times lebron and wade get into each others way, but once the playoffs come around, its almost a necessity to have two players that can create a shot both for themselves and others.
