Small market, big heart will be shown this saturday, 4pm, on FOX40.
It is a great documentary, I have seen it and it is worth checking out if you are in to this type of thing. It chronicles the Kings time in Sacamento.

The economy of Sacramento, ranks 59th in the world.
http://blogs.sacbee.com/capitolalertlat ... kings.html
Sacramento is 20th highest nation in broadcast rights.

We are not New York, LA, or Chicago by any means but, our market is big enough to support a single professional franchise.
Why did we sell out for 17 years or so with many terrible teams?
Why was Burkle interested?
The Maloofs got busted talking about relocation to Annaheim, way back in 1998 when they were minority owners.

Has been plan all along, don't let them fool you, ever wonder why they are so cheap?

We didn't have the Maloofs for most of it
Why was Burkle interested?
To piss off the Maloofs and maybe come up with a NBA team in the process

They suck, like a lot.

Article mentioned that Seattle is in good shape. Everything else is classic Maloof's sucking at owning a team (even before they were majority owners).

They got their idea from the one on the left.

Maloofs suck
SACRAMENTO Kings rule!!!

Well, it's also easier to sell out when you're not getting butt raped at the box office for decent seats. The Maloofs screwed the pooch when they didn't even start cutting ticket prices until they were already 3 years into being almost unwatchable.

yeah i agree
breakdown by year
2001 kings 4th highest payroll
http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/ ... /team/2001
2002 4th highest
http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/ ... /team/2002
2003 still at 4
http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/ ... /team/2003
bottom of league lowest payroll in 2007
http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/ ... /team/2007
so with bottom payroll by 2007, they keep the seats high in price?
and wonder why we don't sell out anymore.
